Coudersport Rotary Club Would Like To Thank Nick McIntire For Speaking
Coudersport Rotary Club was pleased to host teacher, Nick McIntire, at their September 30, 2024 meeting at A&W West End Grill. Nick came to speak about a developing strategy called Co-teaching with Special Education Teachers.
Co-teaching is when two teachers work together to plan and deliver instruction to a group of students. This practice is most often use in inclusive education settings where a special education teacher and regular education teacher work together to teach all students in one classroom.
The benefits of co-teaching include working with smaller groups, more opportunities for feedback and conferencing, access for all to the general curriculum, non-stigmatizing support, social benefits and inclusion.
It builds confidence. Students grow to levels beyond where they were expected to be. Teachers learn from each other. And an increased number of students tested out of learning support after this program began.
Thank you Mr. McIntire for speaking before the Coudersport Rotary Club!
