Clarksville Firefighters Had A Long Day
Clarksville Volunteer Fire Company, Inc
Our Tuesday night training topic was Stop The Bleed training. Members from CVFC and Friendship learned different methods to control bleeding from traumatic injuries.
After training, as CVFC members were getting ready to head home at approximately 20:40, the tones were dropped for full response to Bolivar to assist at a structure fire on CR5A. E2 and T7 along with Chief and Chief 1 were on the street 38 seconds after dispatch, quickly followed by M4. 9 members operated for over 3 hours, returning to service just after midnight.
At approximately 04:45, the Black Sheep were once again summoned to assist Bolivar with a structure fire on N. Main St. T7 and E2 along with Chief and Chief 1 responded to assist. T7 was the second arriving unit, pulling lines to assist with fire attack and then transitioned to feeding the aerial master stream on Cuba 9. E2 established a tanker fill site on nearby CR5A. 8 members operated for nearly 4 hours before returning to service.
Borrowed from our brothers and sisters of the Allentown Fire Company…
This is reality. Men and women across the world donate their time, quite often with little sleep. This is what it looks like after working 2 fires in an 8 hour period. It’s not pretty, it’s not fun, it’s what we do.
We need your help, membership numbers are decreasing, we can’t offer pay, we can’t offer an always healthy environment, but what we can offer is PRIDE. Pride to serve your community and protect those in it.
Consider joining your local agency. We all need a helping hand.
