Clare Walker, age 91, of Knoxville, PA passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at The Gatehouse in Williamsport. Born August 15, 1932 in Knoxville, she was the daughter of the late Reed and Ada (Cooper) Merrick.

She was the bookkeeper for Walkers Hardware, owned by her and her husband, Ardell. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing; making many blankets for weddings and showers. She loved to dance and talk with anyone who would chat; most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Clare is survived by her sons, R. James (Carol) Walker, Myrtle Beach, SC., Jerald (Melinda) Walker, Myrtle Beach, SC and Joseph (Debbie) Walker, Knoxville; grandchildren, Josh (Karen) Walker, Ravenel, SC., Jenelle (Lou) Lombardo, Audubon, Pa., Dustin (Melissa) Walker, Mountain Top, PA., Adam (Abby) Cook, Myrtle Beach, SC, Eve Cook, Conn., Ben (Kelly) Walker, Richmond, Ky., Megan Buck, Enola, PA and Philip (Kristen) Walker of DeLand, FL; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Olive Wood of Little Marsh and many nieces , nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardell O. Walker and siblings, Phillip Merrick and Helen Thomas.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
