Christine “Chris” “Critter” Marie (Kamin) Tasa, age 64, of Wellsboro, PA
Christine “Chris” “Critter” Marie (Kamin) Tasa, age 64, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away surrounded by friends and family in her home on Friday, November 3, 2023.
She was born on January 27, 1959 in Ames, IA daughter of George J. Kamin and Shirley Ann (Daleski) Jordan.
She and her family moved to Wellsboro in 1972 where she participated in cheerleading and was elected prom queen in 1977. After graduating High School Chris moved to Colorado where she worked as a waitress- she believed this was a job everyone should do at least once- and at several factories.
At one of these, she met Steven Tasa. They married on September 16, 1988 and moved back to Wellsboro in 1993 where she gave birth to her daughter Courtney.
Chris loved spending time outdoors and truly valued and respected nature. She acquired the nickname Critter due to her love of animals (except snakes) and always had several dogs and cats in her company. She greatly enjoyed cooking, baking, and caring for her numerous houseplants. She had a great sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to play a joke on someone.
Chris was unfortunately afflicted with MS for most of her adult life and was unable to do the things she loved to the degree that she would have liked. Despite this, she was incredibly loving and supportive, doing anything she could for her family and friends.
She is survived by her mother: Shirley A. Jordan of Wellsboro, PA, husband: Steven R. Tasa of Wellsboro, PA, daughter: Courtney A. Tasa of Wellsboro, PA, brother: Steven J. Kamin of Wellsboro, PA, sister: Michelle A. Fox of Templeton, MA, her children Haliegh M. Biuso (California), Tyler H. Biuso (New York), and Connor J. Simpson (Alaska) and many dedicated friends and caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her Father George J. Kamin, brother Brian R. Kamin, several aunts and uncles, grandparents Walter J. and Bernice (Wielgat) Kamin, Albert J. Daleski and Anne M. (Kaisler) Dawson, and stepfather Robert H. Jordan.
