Christine Ann (Double) Michalski, 91, passed away in her sleep on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Stratford CT. 

Christine (she preferred “Chris”) was born in Bradford on December 13, 1933, to Arline F. Double and Leonard P. (Jim) Double. 

Chris was joined by three siblings, Carol, who survives, and her two brothers, Tommy and Michael who passed away in 1944 and 1945, respectively. 

Chris was the matriarch of the family.  She loved life and she adored her family.  And Chris was always up for a party!  Chris loved the Buffalo Bills, she took great pride in being Irish, and she enjoyed her life to the absolute fullest. 

Chris graduated from Villa Maria College in 1955 with a degree in Elementary Education.  Oh, how she loved “the Villa” and her years spent in Erie with her close friends whom she kept in touch with for decades. 

Chris began her teaching career in Bradford and taught in various schools in Pennsylvania as well as New York. She was inventive, imaginative, and such a resilient lady. 

Chris leaves behind her children, Mary Beth (Christopher), Bridget (Bill), Michael (Carol), and Mark (Allison), all of whom adored her.  In addition, Chris is survived by her grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth (Will), Caitlin, Christopher, Matthew, as well as her great grandchildren, Olivia and Ezra.  Chris was also preceded in death by her loving grandson, Julius. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard Catholic Church.  Burial will be private.
