Chief Timothy M. Johnson (TJ), 56, of Warren, PA
Chief Timothy M. Johnson (TJ), 56, of Warren, PA, lost his life in the line of duty shortly after responding to an EMS call on Monday evening, October 16, 2023. He passed away early Tuesday morning, October 17 at Warren General Hospital after an unexpected medical emergency.
Tim was born in Warren, PA, on December 1, 1966, the son of the late Gary W. and Jane L. (Bertetto) Johnson. On June 19th, 1993, he married the former Kathryn (Kathy) McAulay at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
He was a graduate of Warren High School Class of 1985, he then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He was employed by Whirley Industries for 34 years and most recently was the IT Director.
Tim was a very active member at Pleasant VFD for the past 37 years. He was the current Chief and Trustee as well as an EMT for over 35 years. Tim had also served Pleasant VFD as a secretary, deputy chief, and assistant chief.
Tim was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling and spending vacations with family. Tim was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Pleasant Township.
In addition to his wife Kathryn, he is survived by two children, Michael A. Johnson and companion Amanda of Waterloo, SC, and Emily K. Jameson and husband Shane of Warren, PA: one grandson, Liam J. Jameson; brother, Richard W. Johnson and companion Wendy of Warren, PA.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. He was a girl-dog dad to Sierra, Indi, Ziva, who will miss his scratches and endless supply of treats.
Friends and family may call on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St. Warren, PA, and from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Pleasant Township Social Hall, 40 Fuller Ave., Warren, PA on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the Social Hall, with the Rev. James Swanson, Chaplin of Pleasant VFD, and Pastor of Pleasant Community Church, officiating.
