Charles J. Uhl, 94, of Old Kersey Road, Kersey, PA passed away peacefully Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
He was born January 13, 1930 in Kersey, son of the late Charles and Josephine Kerr Uhl. He was a lifelong resident of the area.
Along with his sister, Gertrude Hippchen, and his brothers, Thomas and James Uhl, he was part owner of the business, Ayrshire Dairy Farms which was known for the βBig Cowβ from 1945 until 2002. Charles retired after 58 years of commitment to the farm.
On October 3, 1964 in the Sacred Heart Church, he married Juanita Wissinger, who survives. They were happily married for 59 years.
Along with his loving wife, he is also survived by three sons: Jeffery (Marsha), Timothy (Jennifer), and Wesley (Dawn) Uhl; a daughter, Patricia Uhl Merritt; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sophia Uhl; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Christine Uhl, Gertrude Hippchen, and one in infancy; and four brothers: Art, Maurice, Thomas, and James Uhl. Charles was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Family and Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 10:30AM in the St. Boniface Church, with Rev. Kevin Holland, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
There will be no visitation.
