Charles C. “Chuck” Tameris, age 80, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.  He was born on June 7, 1942 in Mount Pleasant, NY a son of the late Richard and Irma (Uested) Tameris and was married for 56 years to Gayle (Frome) Tameris.  Chuck served in the US Army and was the owner of Baxter’s Bakery and Frome Acres Resort for over 30 years. 

He was previously employed by Dresser Manufacturing, Wellsboro, PA.  He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, mowing lawn, attending pink outs and was an avid Penn State fan.  Chuck enjoyed bowling, baking goodies, watching NASCAR, attending local sporting events, traveling, gambling, and giving back to his community.  He was a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge and was a school board member for the Galeton Area School District for many years. 

Chuck is survived by his wife: Gayle Tameris of Wellsboro, PA, son: Charli Tameris of Wellsboro, PA, daughters: Tiffiny Novinger of Wellsboro, PA, Crystal (Eric) Barrett of Mansfield, PA, brothers: Richard (Francis Anne) Tameris if MD, Bob (Linda) Tameris of FL, Butch (Susan) Tameris of VA, sisters: Marie Clark of TX, Verny (Bob) Swingle of Mansfield, PA, grandchildren: Caitlin (Nick) Levindoski, Cayden Tameris, Tayler Novinger, Cameron Novinger, Reese Barrett, Teagan Novinger, Mason Barrett, Mikey McNair, Ivan Tameris, Tommy Tameris, great grandsons: Luke Levindoski and Walker Levindoski.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the Valley Alliance Church, 4858 Rt. 6, Wellsboro, PA, at 11:00 am with Pastor Darryl J. Eyler officiating.
