CERES TOWNSHIP                 MEETING AGENDA                   5 DECEMBER 2023

The Budget Meeting was called to order by Chairman Anthony Plants at 5:00 PM.

The Regular Monthly Meeting was called to order by Chairman Anthony Plants at 5:50.  

Minutes of previous meeting of 1 November 2023 reviewed. Motion made by Supervisor Anthony Plants to accept as read, 2nd by Supervisor Greg Maxson, 3rd by Supervisor Jeffery Moyer – motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Update on demolition of Delmar Bridge – may take two or three years before demolition. There is no charge to Ceres Township.

NEW BUSINESS

2024 Fire Contract with Eldred Boro Fire Department – the Contract Fee is $3000.00.

Letter from Shinglehouse Fire Department regarding the Fire and EMS Protection Fee for 2024. The Contract Fee is $20,030.91

Certificate of Millage – will remain at 3.75 mills

ARPA Program – Supervisor Jeff Moyer will call Smethport Representative

Solar Field – what can the township do to prevent the installation of a field?

ROADMASTER’S REPORT

Roadmaster Jeffery Moyer reported that most of the ditches have been cleaned, gravel has been placed on the roads, an auger and motor have been purchased to be used on both trucks.  Both trucks are ready for the winter season.

The following roads are bonded in Ceres Township:

    Coon Cossing – RAM Forest

    Newell Creek – Elliott Lumber

BILLS REVIEWED – Motion made by Supervisor Anthony Plants to pay bills, 2nd by Supervisor Greg Maxson, 3rd by Supervisor Jeffery Moyer – motion carried.

The next meeting will be the End-of-the-Year Meeting on 29 December 2023, at 4:00 PM. The 2024 Budget will be voted on at the meeting. The Organizational Meeting will be held on 2 January 2024, at 5:00 PM, followed by the first Regular Meeting of 2024. The Auditors’ Meeting will be on 3 January 2024, at 6:00 PM. All meetings will be held at 12 Barbertown Road in Ceres Township.
