Horse-Drawn Covered Wagon Rides to Start at Noon Saturday
From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 15, couples and families are invited to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a horse-drawn covered wagon ride.
Ole Covered Wagon is offering rides every 30 minutes starting at noon Saturday at the Sherwood Motel parking lot at 2 Main Street, and ending with the 3:30 p.m. ride.
Up to 16 people can go on a ride. Each woman will receive a red rose and all those on every ride will receive a small chocolate horse made by Highland Chocolates.
Rides will be held rain, snow or shine. A clear plastic panel will be attached to each side of the wagon so people can see the sights and stay dry.
The horse-drawn covered wagon will travel from the Sherwood Motel through Wellsboro’s Main Street historic district, passing by the gaslights that line the boulevards on one side and businesses on the other. To see all sides of The Green, a park in the heart of Wellsboro that features monuments and the Wynken, Blynken and Nod fountain, the covered wagon will turn left onto Central Avenue and then right onto Pearl Street, Charles Street and Main Street.
The covered wagon will continue on the other side of the Main Street boulevards through Wellsboro’s historic district on its return trip to the Sherwood Motel.
A ride is $25 per person. Reservations are recommended by calling Brad Confer at 1-607-857-5256 now until Saturday when rides are being given or just show up.
