SR EXPO & SR CENTER COUNTY-WIDE GET-TOGETHER in the Coudersport Arboretum was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!
This year’s SR EXPO & SR CENTER COUNTY WIDE GET-TOGETHER held yesterday in the Coudersport Arboretum was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!
This annual event is sponsored by the Coudersport Arboretum Association and in collaboration with Potter County Human Services Area Agency on Aging.
Many thanks to all of the vendors who set up, the Arboretum Committee Members, My Works for all their help, Donnie Hoffman, John Stilson & Rickie Ordway from Playing It Forward, Potter County AAA & Senior Centers and all the attendees!!
ATA provided transportation for some of the SR Center participants.
Special thanks to Rep. Martin Causer and Senator Cris Dush for sponsoring the morning refreshments and free hot dog lunch for everyone. Although they were not able to attend, due to working hard on the state’s budget to continue to bring programs and services to benefit us, their offices had tables set up with valuable information.
Also, we are very grateful for all of the door prizes and gift certificates donated by businesses, organizations and the vendors.
What a great community event!!
Pictures will be posted soon on the Coudersport Arboretum Association and Potter County Senior Centers Facebook pages!

Causer to Offer Property Tax/Rent Rebate Assistance at Coudersport Senior Center Next Week
COUDERSPORT – The annual Property Tax/Rent Rebate Clinics hosted by Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) will conclude next week, though assistance continues to be available at his offices in Bradford, Coudersport and Kane.
The final clinic will be held on Wednesday, March 13, from 9-11 a.m. at the Coudersport Senior Center, 165 Route 6 West. The service is free.
A new state law increased income eligibility limits to $45,000 for both homeowners and renters, and residents should exclude 50% of Social Security when calculating income. The maximum rebate was also increased from $650 to $1,000. The program benefits eligible residents 65 years and older; widows and widowers 50 years and older; and people with disabilities 18 years and older.
To file for the rebate, residents must have the following documentation to allow claims to be processed:
- Renters will need a 2023 PA Rent Certificate, completed by their landlord, or statement from HUD office; 2023 proof of income, such as Social Security/Disability Form 1099, employment W-2, Pension/Retirement Form 1099 and Interest/Dividends Form 1099; and a driver’s license or photo identification. Some may also need to bring a death certificate, life lease or deed.
- Homeowners will need proof of 2023 paid property taxes to their county, municipality and school district; 2023 proof of income, such as Social Security/Disability Form 1099, employment W-2, Pension/Retirement Form 1099 and Interest/Dividends Form 1099; and a driver’s license or photo identification. Some may also need to bring a death certificate, life lease or deed.
Applicants who wish to receive their rebates through direct deposit should bring a check for account information. If not, paper checks will be mailed. Disbursements should begin after July 1.
Assistance is always available at Causer’s offices in Bradford (78 Main St., 814-362-4400), Coudersport (107 S. Main St., 814-274-9769) or Kane (54 Fraley St., 814-837-0880). Residents may also apply online at mypath.pa.gov.

Effective Wednesday, November 29, 2023, all meals will be grab-and-go meals. Mae’s Kountry Griddle Restaurant at 75 Germania Street, Galeton has graciously allowed us to provide the meals from their kitchen with a pick-up time at 11 am.
All meals will continue to be the same rules as before – order the day prior and Friday for Wednesday. We hope to have a new home soon. Locations are being sought and decisions will be made as soon as possible. As you know with rules and regulations it takes some time. Please bear with us as we all adjust to this change.
