Lewis E. “Lew” Snyder Sr., loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather
Olean- Lewis E. “Lew” Snyder Sr. formerly of Brook St. passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Olean, after a short illness.
Lew was born in Newfield, PA., on July 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Luther and Margaret (Blackman) Snyder. He was orphaned at the age of 3, and was raised by his beloved aunt and uncle, Susan (Snyder) and Martin Falk. On October 29, 1950, in Roulette, PA, he married his loving wife, Luella J. Snyder, who predeceased him, August 3, 2012.
Lew attended Roulette High School and later received his GED from New York State. He went on to work for the American Olean Tile Plant and St. Bonaventure University Security, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed memberships with, Allegany American Legion, Post # 892, The Allegany 60 Plus Club, The Pulaski Club of Olean, The Moose Lodge of Olean and The Elks Lodge of Olean.
DONALD EDWARD DAILY passed on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at August Health Care in Annandale VA.
He was born Jan 24, 1935, in Wellsville NY, the beloved son of the late Seward W. and Gertrude Daily; longtime companion of Pat Seward; brother of S. Russell and Alan W. Daily and the late Joanne Horton. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
A memorial gathering was held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 celebrating Don’s life at KALAS FUNERAL HOME, Oxon Hill, MD 20745.
Donald grew up in Genesee, PA, and graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy High School in 1953. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute then served in the Air Force for 3 years. He was employed by the Army Map Service until he retired as a cartographer. Donald enjoyed sports, bowling and softball, dancing and going on cruises.
Vicki Jo Wood, 47, of Westfield, PA passed away May 20, 2024, surrounded by family, following a brave fight with cancer.
She was born July 11, 1976, in Wellsboro to Larry and Marion (Davis) Wood. Vicki Worked at STL Logistics in Painted Post. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, being with her son Tyler, hunting, travelling with her partner Michael, and especially tending to her flowers.
Matthew Lance Scott Holdren, age 29 of Elkland, PA passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
He was born in Fayetteville, NC on May 12, 1995 and was a son to David K. Holdren and Christine M. Towner.
Matt enjoyed playing games on his Xbox, listening to music, cooking and grilling, traveling, spending time with his family and exploring different hobbies that intrigued him. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending countless hours hiking, kayaking, fishing and enjoying the lake. His children, Karalyn and Jameson, were his pride and joys and it was said his biggest life accomplishment was achieved once he had his children. Matt was also known as the family prankster and instigator; he always knew how to get people laughing.
PORT ALLEGANY-Joel E. Schroll, 56, formerly of Port Allegany, PA passed away Thursday (May 16, 2024) in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
Born July 4, 1967, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Jayne Schroll.
He was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1985.
Joel had been employed with the former Pittsburgh Corning Co. of Port Allegany, and most recent as a bus driver with Muccio Bus Service, Port Allegany.
Brenda D. Seth, 69, of Spruce Ave. in Kane, PA passed away Friday (May 17) in the Lutheran Home at Kane surrounded by her family following a brief illness. Born June 10, 1954 in Kane, she is the daughter of the late William and Nina “Janie” (Gerhart) Read. On May 10, 1975 in Kane she married Walter Seth, who survives.
Brenda had worked at various places throughout her life including CeraMag, the Kane Credit Union and most recently as a secretary at Tabor Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Hallton Church of Christ in Ridgway. Brenda enjoyed her weekly Bible studies and spending time with her family and friends. But most of all she enjoyed being a Grammy.

Helene (Hamilton) Anthony, age 85, of Wellsboro, PA, formerly of West Hartford, CT, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024 in the comfort of friends and family.
She was born on October 7, 1938 in Winsted, CT, a daughter of the late Cyril and Lucy (Ziegel) Hamilton, and was married to the late Raymond Ernest Anthony II, who passed away in 1968.
Helene was a Registered Nurse who graduated in 1959 from the Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, CT. Helene practiced nursing while living in California, New Jersey, and Connecticut, before she retired and settled in PA. She was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center after her retirement. She enjoyed travelling and often took 2 cruise vacations per year.
She also enjoyed reading, listening to jazz music, visiting NYC, Broadway shows and concerts, weekly lunch dates with her close friends, spoiling her nieces and nephews, Dunkin Donuts coffee, casino trips, and winning trivia games.
Smethport – Clara Mae Lathrop, 86, of Crosby, PA passed away Sunday (May 19, 2024) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport.
She was born October 6, 1937 in Fisher, PA, the daughter of Charles and Jane (Klingensmith) Jones.
Clara was a mold operator working at Pennsylvania Pressed Metal, then GKN of Emporium, PA.
She was a member of the Norwich Twp. Fire Department, the American Legion Auxiliary, John Berg Post #976 of Crosby, and the Crosby United Methodist Church.
Barbara A. “Barb” Slike, 53, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute Center after a long fight with cancer.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Avenue. At 11:00 am funeral services will be held with Rev. Robert Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery.

Patricia Ann (Reitz) Pecora, 83, of 331 Interstate Parkway, Bradford, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 17, 2024, at her home.
Born on July 12, 1940, in South Bend, Indiana, she was the second daughter of William and Jewel (Tyring) Reitz.
Pat was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 1962 graduate of Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. In the summer of 1962, she began working for the Kennedy administration, specifically for the Secretary of Commerce in Washington, D.C.
On November 11, 1967, she married Stanley E. Pecora, Jr. at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.
Pat was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church, served as the Parish Secretary (1979-1989), and Financial Secretary for Pecora and Duke Law Firm (1989-2012). She was also a member of the LaStella Auxiliary and the St. Bernard’s Catholic Women’s Group.
James B. Mosso, age 84, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Friday, May 17, 2024.
He was born on November 14, 1939 in Blossburg, PA a son of the late Lee and Anna (Gerow) Mosso and was the husband for 57 years of the late Bea (Jones) Mosso who passed away in 2019.
Jim retired from the former Commonwealth Telephone Company after 35 years of service. He was a successful entrepreneur starting an automotive service company and also a construction and real estate development company.
He enjoyed boating on Seneca Lake, aviation, flying model airplanes, carpentry and especially spending time with his family.
Lawrence M. Joseph “Loving Husband, Father & Brother”
Lawrence M. Joseph, 73, of West Spring Street, Olean, NY passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Olean General Hospital following an illness.
Lawrence was born on February 16, 1951, in Olean and was the son of Mielad and Florence Wollenburger Joseph. On October 28, 1972, at St. Joseph Catholic Church he married Deborah K. Lyons, who survives.
Lawrence was a 1969 graduate of Olean High School. He worked for the Parks Department in Olean for over 20 years until his retirement. Lawrence enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and fishing.

Delores M. Broscious “loving wife, mother, sister, and Gigi”
Delores M. “Dee” Broscious, 70, of Shinglehouse, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born on Thursday, November 26, 1953, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Randall B. and Iva I. Knowlton Ayers. On October 11, 1986 in the Sunbury Bible Church, Sunbury, she married Michael D. Broscious, who survives.
Dee was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Shinglehouse, Class of 1972 and was also a graduate of the former Olean Business Institute in Olean, NY. For many years, Dee was employed by McDonald’s in Coudersport, choosing to retire in 2019 and starting her greatest journey yet- a caregiver for 3 grandchildren under four. Spending time teaching her grandchildren lessons about faith, love, and life brought her unsurmountable joy.
Dee was a member of the Bell Run Union Church, and also attended the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. She was a volunteer and member of the Oswayo Valley Senior Center. She was an avid sports fan and card collector. During baseball season rooting on the New York Yankees, and during football season, the Buffalo Bills. Dee was very involved in many capacities with Potter County Special Olympics. She loved playing bingo and sitting around the card table weekly playing Texas Hold ‘Em with her brothers- her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Gigi”.
Margaret Hewitt HACKETT, 75, of Belmont, NY, died Monday, November 13, 2023 in her home.

Born February 26, 1948, in Wellsville, she was the daughter of Arthur Henry and Flossie Geraldine Williams Hinkley. On February 29, 2020, she married Harry Bruce Hackett, who survives. Margaret was employed by Harrison Bros. Federal Meat Packing Plant in Williamsport, worked in many area restaurants, and owned and operated a cleaning business.
Alice M. Fishkin, 91, of Bradford, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
She was born on April 4, 1933 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Max and Sadie Manacher.
On February 28, 1954 in Baltimore; she married Jerome Fishkin who preceded her in death on June 15, 2018.
She was a former member of the Coffee Cup Bowling League and a past volunteer at the Bradford Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Temple Beth El. She enjoyed reading and being a member of several book clubs.
She was employed by the former Hounds and Hares Magazine as a secretary for ten years as well as being a homemaker all her life.
Patricia H. Slattery, 88, of Warren, PA., died peacefully, Saturday morning, May 18, 2024. Pat was born March 12, 1936, in Emporium, PA. She was the daughter of M. Avanel Hall. She has resided in Warren since 1957 and had previously resided in Emporium and Clearfield, PA. She was a 1954, graduate of Emporium High School and Clearfield Nursing School and earned her registered nursing degree from the University of Cincinnati. She was employed with the Warren State Hospital, for 30 years, retiring September 18, 1998. She then worked part time for insurance companies, doing physicals and blood work.
Pat was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Alaskan Children’s Circle, Yarn Angel group, PARSE- at the state level and local office where she had served as Regional Vice President for 8 years. She was also a member of PNA-Pennsylvania Nurses Association, where she was a local representative and a member of their Executive Board of Directors. She was a member of AARP, Warren Swim Team Boosters, , Warren Music Boosters, Warren Antique Study Club where she was their Poet Laureate, Scouting programs, Breast for life program, served on the Department of Human Services Board of Directors, was a volunteer with the Warren Co. Department of Assistance. Pat was an avid reader, enjoyed doing handcrafts, cross-stitch, crocheter, quilting and knitting.
Kenneth L. Burchell, 92, of Galeton, PA, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2024 at the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA.
Born September 27, 1931, in Melrose, PA, he was a son of the late Lamont and Loretta (Thompkins) Burchell. He was married to Barbara Burchell who preceded him in death on December 10, 2016.
He worked at Larimer & Norton for several years before retiring and was a lifelong farmer.
Surviving are four daughters, Debbie Crossley, Tina Dickson and Karrie Zielinski, all of the Scranton, PA area and Tammie Lancenese, Galeton; a son, Edmond Burchell, Westfield, PA; two step-daughters, Ina Williams and Julie Schmidt; two special grandchildren, Alexis and Andrew Lancenese; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Ken was predeceased by all of his siblings and a grandson, Austin Lancenese.
Services will be held at the family’s convenience.

Thomas Klink, 76, of Wilcox Rd., Wilcox, PA passed away at his residence on Friday afternoon, May 17, 2024, following a brief illness. He was born on September 20, 1947, in Ridgway, a son to the late Howard and Patricia Glover Klink. He married the former Sandra Stahli in St. Marys and she survives.
A lifelong resident of the area, Tom lived in Wilcox since 1999, and lived most of his life in Johnsonburg, and graduated from Johnsonburg High School.
Tom was Catholic by faith, and was a member of the Wilcox American Legion. He loved visits at his home with friends and family and spending time with his dog Casey.
Bonnie L. Laughlin Lechner, 95, of Johnsonburg, and formerly of St. Marys, PA past away late Thursday night, May 16, 2024, at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Bonnie was born in Medix Run, a daughter to the late William and Linnie Irwin Laughlin. On July 1, 1950, in St. Marys, she married Leo W. Lechner. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1978.
A resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home for the past 9 years, Bonnie had lived in Johnsonburg for 20 years and St. Marys for many years. She was a member of Shiloh Evangelical Presbyterian Church in St. Marys, she had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had been the past Chief Steward of the Union at Pure Carbon Co.
Bonnie had retired from Pure Carbon after over 35 years of service.

Gregory “Greg” Hall was born on October 15th, 1948, in Coudersport, to Leslie “Jake” and Helen Hall. He spent his childhood days with his sister Judy and brother Larry playing on the streets of Rubbertown, hunting at Andrew Settlement, camping at Kenzua, snowmobiling at the club and developing his love for Fly Fishing on Lyman Run.
After graduating from Coudersport High School, Greg went to Cleveland where he earned his business degree and then started a career in management of retail stores and store fixtures. He moved to Boston to continue his career and met his best friend for life Bill Narva.
On a work trip to Steubenville, OH in 1977, he met the love of his life, Eileen Kelly Hall, while opening two retail stores. They dated long-distance for 3 years, got engaged in Switzerland and then married in 1980 in the Pocono Mountains. They welcomed the next two loves of his life, their children Kate and Jake, in the early eighties. Greg and Kelly raised them in Granby, Connecticut and then York, Pennsylvania.
He was dedicated to his career in all parts of the industry – from building and designing to production and delivery. He retired in 2016.
