Kathryn R. Wittman, 98, formerly of Dagus Mines, PA passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 15, 1925 in Johnsonburg, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Katherine Mandot Fitch.
On February 16, 1957, she married the late Vern R. Wittman, who preceded her in death on August 8, 2000. Together they shared more than 43 years of marriage.
Kathryn was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Church and retired from Powdered Metal Products after many years of service.

Stephen H. Amacher, 62, of El Rancho Lane, Ridgway, PA passed away at his home on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Born on January 7, 1961, Steve was the son of the late George and Joyce Papa Amacher.
On May 24, 1997, he married the love of his life, Tammy “Buffy” Beck. Together they shared more than 26 years of love and laughter.
Steve was a proud resident of Ridgway, where he graduated from Ridgway High School. He was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church and retired from Ridgway High School after working many years as a teacher’s aide. He believed in the power of knowledge and enjoyed the kids he helped throughout the years.

Shirley A. Poore, 88, of Rawson Road, Cuba, NY passed away at the Cuba Skilled Nursing Facility on October 24, 2023, with her daughters, Betsy and Debbie holding her hand until she reached for the hand of her Lord and Savior and entered into Heaven.
The daughter of John and Mildred (Baker) Avery, Shirley was born in Bradford, PA on March 8, 1935. She attended Rixford and Duke Center Elementary Schools, and was a 1953 graduate of Otto-Eldred Central School in Duke Center, PA.
On January 11, 1957, in the Duke Center Methodist Church, she married Edwin A. Rambuski of Cuba, who predeceased her on December 5, 1992. On September 30, 2000, she married Harley J. Poore of Cuba, who predeceased her on July 10, 2015.
When her children were young, Shirley was the neighborhood “Avon Lady,” making many lifelong friends in her door-to-door travels. In 1969, she became employed as a food service worker at the Cuba Central School Cafeteria. In 1978, she was appointed Cafeteria Manager, and was dubbed, affectionately, by students as “The Lunch Lady.” She held the position of manager until her retirement in June of 1998, after twenty-nine years at the school. She also held the office of President of the Allegany County Food Service Association for two years.
Rocco Camas, Jr., 81, of Bradford, PA passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Erie County Medical Center.
Born July 4, 1942, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Rocco and Mary C. (Mongillo) Camas Sr. He was a 1962 graduate at Saint Bernard’s High School.
After high school he joined the United States Army on January 10, 1963. He served in France, as a dental assistant until he was honorably discharged on November 24, 1965.
On August 17, 1968, at Saint Bernard Catholic Church, he married Kay (Donohue) Camas, who survives.
Rocco worked at the Downbeat Restaurant and later at McCourt Label from where he retired.
Corwynn P. “Cork” Sauve, Sr., 86, of Coudersport, PA passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Sweden Valley Manor after a brief battle with cancer.
Cork was born on November 14, 1936, in Harrisburg, the son of the late Robert P. and Winifred J. (Fisher) Sauve. Cork married the former Kathy E. Snyder on September 9, 1976, and they recently celebrated 47 years of marriage.
Cork served in the Marines for 13 years and survived the Vietnam War completing two tours in the Second Battalion, 4th Marines. Cork was one of the “Magnificent Bastards” in Operation Starlight. Although Cork didn’t really speak much about his experience in the war, he proudly displayed his role in America’s freedom by flying the US and Marine Corps flags outside his home and always wearing his Marine-insignia caps.

Sherry Ann CORNEBY, 73, of Genesee, PA, died Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in her home after a two-year battle with severe diabetes and kidney disease.
Born October 30, 1949, in Reading, she was the daughter of Robert A. and Dorris M. Dinkle Steinmetz.
A 1967 graduate of Governor Mifflin Senior High School in Shillington, she earned a bachelor’s degree in German and secondary education from Mansfield University in 1971, and later earned a master’s degree while teaching at Whitesville Central School.
Philip Zinck 72, of Wellsboro, PA passed away on October 24, 2023, at home surrounded by family. He was born on September 11, 1951, in Blossburg to Oliver and Margaret (Hackett) Zinck.
Philip was a tank operator for Osram, a regular at Harland’s restaurant, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid fan of both the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Carol E. Fritz, 81, of 336 West Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 23, 2023 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born July 6, 1942 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Weber Herbstritt. She was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1960, and instrumental in the family business at Asmac, Inc.
On April 28, 1962 in Queen of the World Church, Carol married Donald A. Fritz, who survives. They were blessed to share 61 years of marriage.
Amy L. Lehman of 3140 Madison Hill, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Jones Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Amy was born on November 2, 1966 in Hornell and was the daughter of Herman “Sonny” D. and Sylvia J. Clark Lehman.
Amy was a 1984 graduate of Scio Central School. She continued her education at Fredonia State University where she was a 1988 graduate with her bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Amy was a substitute teacher in Scio for many years.
For the past 20 years she worked at the Accord Corporation in Belmont where she was currently a Training & Technical Specialist.
Karen S. Ostrum, 77, of 7 Nelson Avenue, Bradford, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Olean General Hospital.
Born on October 27, 1945, in New Kensington, she was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude L. (Olbeter) Defassio.
On March 29, 1968, in New Kensington, she married Raymond D. Ostrum who survives.
Karen was a graduate of New Kensington High School. She earned her Bachelors in Education from Clarion University in 1967, and went on to earn a Masters in Reading from St. Bonaventure University.
She taught in the Bradford Area School District for over 37 years, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, and the Bradford Children’s Home.
Karen was a member of the Red Hats, Penn York Doll Club, Literary Club, and PSEA.
On March 20, 1961 Debbie Lynn was born to Bill and Phyllis (Potter) Gaberseck and was destined to be full of life. A baby girl, with golden hair, she joined older brother, Billy Gaberseck, and then later younger brother, Larry (Mona) Gaberseck, and younger sister, Patty (Jess) Wilson.
Debbie graduated from Coudersport High School in 1979, which was the same year her son, Robert (Abbi) Rossman was born and 5 years later her son Jason (Liz) Rossman added to her family.
On October 22, 1988 she married the love her life, Geoff Mahaley. Together they built their business now known as Mahaley’s Outdoor Power Equipment. In June of 1989 she had her youngest son John (Maureen) Mahaley. Debbie and Geoff enjoyed many years together until November of 2016 when Geoff was called home.
Adam D. Ginther, 51, of 132 Laurel Lane, Kersey, PA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Sena Kean Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Smethport.
He was born March 22, 1972, in Olean, NY, son of the late David F. and Marie Gradl Ginther. He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1990 and earned his degree in criminal justice from Edinboro University.
John S. Sheldon Johnson (Magoo), 60, of Warren, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in Warren General Hospital, after an apparent heart attack.
He was born on January 18, 1963, in Martinez, California, the son of the late John W. and Sandra Treadwell Johnson. In 1989 John moved to Warren, PA and has resided here since. John married Michelle (Wood) Johnson in Russell, PA on June 27, 1998.
He worked as a diesel mechanic for Regal Trucking, in Ripley, NY.

Makena Lee “Kenna” Austin, 22, of Shinglehouse, PA tragically passed away with her whole loving family and most prized friends by her side on Friday, October 20, 2023, in Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born on Thursday, March 15, 2001 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Douglas R. and Hellen J. Limrick Ryan.
She was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Class of 2019, Shinglehouse. An accomplished artist and photographer, Kenna was accepted into the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts juried High School Art Exhibits at St. Bonaventure University when she was a senior in high school. She also made honors in the choir in high school as an alto singer.
After graduation, Kenna worked with her father at XPO Transportation in Olean, NY. At the time of her passing, she was employed as a machine operator at Morgan AMT in Coudersport.
Edwin F. “Pike” Wittman, 87, of 607 Virginia Road, St. Marys, PA passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Pinecrest Manor.
He was born August 30, 1936, in St. Marys, son of the late Edwin and Ethel Woods Wittman.
Pike was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1954, as well as a 1958 graduate of Villanova University. Pike joined GTE Sylvania after graduation where he served as Plant Controller until retirement. In addition, he taught accounting at Penn State DuBois for several years. Following retirement, Pike and his brother entered the powdered metal industry by opening Elk Metals.
On August 17, 1957, in the Sacred Heart Church, Pike married Sallie A. Fox, who survives.
Smethport – Beatrice D. Banks, 78, of Rew, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday (October 21, 2023) at at her residence.
She was born October 31, 1944 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Lyle Rees and Martha (Raymer) Rees. On July 16, 1965, in the Bolivar Run Baptist Church, she married Ralph A. Banks, who survives.
She was a graduate of Smethport High School and was a homemaker, tending to the needs of her family.

Susan O. MOYER, 70, of Genesee, PA, died Friday, October 20, 2023 in Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Hornell, NY.
Born April 9, 1953, in Germantown, she was the daughter of Paul and Mary Geovjian Okoorian. On June 26, 1980, in Cheltenham, she married William N. “Bill” Moyer, who predeceased her on August 12, 2021.
A 1972 graduate of Bensalem High School, she earned a degree in urban planning from Penn State University in 1976. She was employed by Potter County Human Services as a school mentor in the Austin Area School District. She was also a facilitator for the Big Brother Big Sister program in various schools prior to working at Human Services.
Susan served as Genesee Township Secretary for several years.
