At 8:26 AM on Thursday, Hamlin Township Fire Dept. & Mt. Jewett Ambulance have been dispatched to the Dollar General Store at 8990 Route 6. Caller reports an electrical smell & haze inside the store. Store evacuated.

Kane was dispatched for an industrial fire at 0510 to Collins Pine, Kane Hardwood. First arriving units found fire extending from the conveyor building up the conveyor and into the boiler silo. A second alarm was called for and mutual aid departments responded from Hamlin Twp, Ludlow, Sheffield, Mt. Jewett, Wilcox, Johnsonburg, Ridgway, St. Marys, Smethport, & Highland Twp. All units were back in service by 0930. Many thanks to those that came to assist and give up a good portion of their Easter holiday. As always we are humbled and greatly appreciate the help!
Easter dinner was interrupted when Box 3-2 was struck for a house fire on Keating Avenue in the borough this evening. Chief 310 (Ernst) arrived and reported a working fire in a single-story residence. Engine 3 secured their own hydrant and stretched a line to the interior for fire attack. Squad 3 laid in from a second hydrant and split their crew to stretch a backup handline, throw ladders, and complete ventilation. Crews from Roulette, Coudersport, and Ladder 14 from Emporium assisted on scene while an Engine from Smethport stood by at our station.
At 7:05 PM on Sunday, Port Allegany Fire Dept. has been dispatched to a residential house fire at 203 Keating Avenue. Coudersport dispatched for tower & RIT. Roulette for standby at Port Allegany. Emporium ladder truck requested. Roulette diverted to scene. Roulette Ambulance to scene.
At 1:30 PM on Sunday, Belmont, Amity Rescue & Wellsville Rescue are responding to the Genesee River off County Road 31 A & Back River Road in Amity near the Conservation Club.
Report man in water. Possible civilian rescue on scene.
Man is out of hole in river. Now out of the water. Denying medical attention. Medical recalled.
At 12:15 PM on Sunday, Big Elm & Millerton Fire Depts. have been dispatched to the intersection of Rt. 328 & 549 for a 2-vehicle crash with 2 injuries reported.
At 10:45 AM on Sunday, Galeton, Germania & Westfield Fire Depts. were dispatched to 45 Germania Street, Apt. #4 in Galeton for a possible structure fire.

12:05 PM–All units RECALLED. Fire is out. Reported to be a boiler fire. Gas is shut off. UGI notified.
Kane, PA–At 5:09 AM on Sunday, Kane Fire Dept. has been dispatched to a working structure fire at Kane Hardwoods at 95 Hardwood Drive. A second alarm requesting Mt. Jewett, Hamlin, Ludlow, Wilcox, Johnsonburg & Ridgway to scene. The building is evacuated.
Chief reports entire conveyor belt is on fire with extension into the silo near the rear of the complex.
Fire Units were leaving the scene around 9:15 AM. Their fast response & efficient work obviously saved this business from a potentially catastrophic fire.
At 9:35 PM on Saturday, Fox Twp. Fire Dept. dispatched to a one-vehicle crash at Million Dollar Highway & Fairview Road. Also reporting a pole down. Responder on scene reports no injury, no entrapment.
On March 30, at 9:19 pm Blossburg was dispatched for a one vehicle crash near N. Williamson Rd. and Wilson Lane. The vehicle is on fire the occupant is self extricated
Elk County Coroner Michelle A. Muccio- Krise is releasing the following information in regards to a fatal house fire that occurred on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at approximately 8:15 AM on Jackson Road in the City of St. Marys, Elk County.
Two decedents were located inside the home once the fire was contained and were pronounced dead at the scene by Elk County Coroner Michelle A. Muccio-Krise. Both victims appear to have perished from smoke inhalation, and their identities are being withheld at this time pending notification of family.
UPDATE:
Donald E. Mahovlich, 69, and Susan A. Mahovlich, 68, of Jackson Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 30, 2024 as a result of a fire in their home.
On March 30, at 4:18 pm Mansfield, Wellsboro, and Blossburg were dispatched to 18327 Rt. 6 in Richmond Twp. for a rollover crash with ejections and entrapment. Two Helicopters have been dispatched with no word on a third that has been requested. A third helicopter has also been dispatched.
At 1:42 PM on Saturday, Coudersport Fire Dept. was dispatched to Rt. 6 West at Dingman Run Road for a tree down with lines. Incident is about a mile up Dingman Run Road.
