Robert G. Goodrich, age 87, of Elkland, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro.
Born July 13, 1935 in Osceola, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Bernice W. (Zimmer) Goodrich.
Bob proudly served in the US Army from 1950 – 1953, during the Korean War.
He married Nancy M. (Mortimer) and they spent 48 years together until her passing on February 16, 2009.
Bob was a machinist, journeyman tool & die maker, draftsman and welder. He worked through the years at Dresser, Ingersoll Rand Foundry and Ward Manufacturing and he was a retired minister from Wesley Chapel in Elkland. He was always building / fixing up the church and if he could get his hands on it, he would try to fix anything.
Bob loved his community and would say “Elkland is my parish”. He was a member of the American Legion Post #428 and served for years on the Elkland Zoning Board. He loved Army football, hunting, gardening and animals; two of his favorite dogs, Julie and Missy.
Bob is survived by his children, Nanette and David Yauger of Titusville, PA, Bob and Becky Goodrich of Osceola, Mark Goodrich of Elkland, Jon Goodrich of Harrisburg and Steve and Debbie Goodrich of Middlebury Center; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Thompson of Elkland; special foreign exchange student, Kirsi (Filppula) Miskala of Finland and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Goodrich; a grandson, Brandon Goodrich; great grandson, Josiah Goodrich; great granddaughter, Nevaeh Goodrich and daughter in law, Kim Goodrich.
Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Thursday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM and on Friday, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately on Friday at 12:00 PM with Rev. Robert Symons officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Highland Cemetery.
