Carol Wheatley, 81, of Edgar St., Kane, PA
Carol Wheatley, 81, of Edgar St., passed away Friday (Oct. 25) in UMPC-Hamot. Born June 21, 1943 in Kane, she is the daughter of the late Harvey and Charlotte (Trimble) Simons. On Feb. 23, 1962 in Nebraska, she married David Wheatley, who she met while they were both in the service. He preceded her in death.
Carol had worked at the Kane Republican for many years.. She was a past member of the Kane Elks Auxiliary, and was a member of the choir at the Baptist church for many years. Currently she was a member of the Kane Community Methodist Church. Carol also had served in the Air Force.
She is survived by one son, David (Angela) Wheatley Jr. of Kane; three daughters, Connie (Richard) Ferguson of Aliquippa, Joyce Ann (Jim) Nelson of Wilcox and Nicole (David) Wheatley Causer of Kane; five granddaughters, Jennifer Coburn, Kelli West, Cheyenne Wheatley, Brandi Bell and Baya Causer; three grandsons, Noah Ferguson, Timothy Nelson and Levi Causer; a sister, Barbara (Frank) Danuski of Warren; a brother John (Karen) Simons of Kane and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Friends are invited to attend a viewing at the Cummings Funeral Home on Saturday (Nov. 2) from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 with the Rev. Calvin Cook officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor cemetery.
