Carlisle “Doug” Douglas of 4115 South 9 Mile Road, Allegany, NY went to be with his LORD and Savior on Friday, January 12, 2024, in Buffalo General Hospital, following an illness.
Doug was born on June 27, 1937, the only child of Alice and Victor Douglas of Bloomsburg, PA.
Doug grew up on a 206-acre Dairy Farm up the west branch area of Galeton, PA. He graduated from Galeton High School in 1956 and enlisted in the military on October 5, 1956. Doug trained to be a medic and an x-ray technologist at the Army Brook Medical Center in Texas. He enjoyed the service and the places where he was stationed. Including Alaska when it became our 49th State.
After returning home from the military after three years, Doug went to work for the Potter County Hospital in Coudersport, PA which is now known as UPMC Cole. It was at this time that he met his wife-to-be. On July 22, 1961, he married Kathryn A. Meachem.
Soon after, they moved to Olean and Doug started working at Olean General Hospital Doug became manager of the Radiology department and enjoyed working with his fellow coworkers. On October 11, 1991, Doug left Olean General Hospital to continue working in Radiology Departments at other local hospitals.
Doug was very much a people person and enjoyed meeting and conversing with everyone.
Besides his loving wife Kathy, Doug is survived by three children: Gregory (Darlene) Douglas of Lancaster, Jeannine M. (Ronald) Shugar of Bradford, and Kevin W. (Marlene) Douglas of Hooper, UT., 13 grandchildren: Nathan (Jill), Ryan, Irene, Sterling, Isiaah, Grayson, Makala, Harper, Joshua (Shayna) Rachel, Benjamin, Andrew, and Charlie, three great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Bella and Adrienne.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at which time Rev.
