Carl G. Johnson, 84, of Roulette, PA

Carl G. Johnson, 84, of Roulette, PA passed away on August 14, 2025 at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport, PA surrounded by his loving family.
Carl was born on March 27, 1941 in Altoona, PA. The son of Gustaf and Dorothy (Lind) Johnson. On June 22, 1963 in State College, he married his wife of 53 years Bonna J. Bloom who preceded him in death on August 8, 2016.
He was a graduate of Altoona High school, and Penn State University with a degree in agriculture. Carl and Bonna, alongside each other, owned and operated Johnson Excavating in Roulette.
Carl was known for his knowledge in completing excavating jobs alongside his son Jerry, and hauling gravel from his gravel pit in his “Blue Pete” all across Potter and McKean Counties. Upon retirement from the gravel and excavation business, he then drove log truck for a period of time before officially retiring.
Carl was a life member of the Roulette Fire Department. He previously served on the Port Allegany School District school board, having been instrumental in the building of the current elementary school. He was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church of Roulette, and most recently served as a Roulette Township Supervisor.
Carl filled his children, Jerry and Pam, with the entrepreneurial spirit. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed helping with SPS Goat Farm alongside his daughter, Pam. In his younger years, Carl enjoyed stock car racing at the McKean County Raceway with his son. Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many winters fishing Lake Okeechobee in Florida with his wife, Bonna. He enjoyed riding his side by side on “the hill”, fishing at the “the pond”, camping, boating, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by one son Jerry (Karen) Johnson of Roulette, one daughter, Pam (Scott) Davenport of Roulette, two grand-daughters, Stacey (Craig) Kinney of Port Allegany and Sydney Davenport of Gold, three great-grandchildren, Karli, Camrin, and Mack Kinney of Port Allegany, Brother-In-Law, Barry (Diane) Bloom of State College, his companion Janet Lehtonen.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and wife Bonna.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2-5 PM and on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 12 -1PM in the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 105 Main St., Port Allegany, where funeral services will start at 1PM, with the Rev. Jim Cannistraci, pastor of the Riverside Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Cemetery, Roulette.
In leiu of flowers memorials may be made to Roulette Fire Dept. or the Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette.
