Carl E. Vance, 74, of 2 McCourt Place, Bradford, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by family at his side.

Born April 26, 1949, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Paul E. and Margarete (Schmidt) Vance. He graduated from Bradford High School in 1967.

On February 16, 1980, at the Bolivar Drive Baptist Church he married Barbara (Carty) Vance who preceded him in death on March 16, 2006.

Carl was employed at AVX in Olean, NY and the Particle Board in Mt. Jewett, PA and retired from Kendall Refining Company, where he worked as a Lab Technician.

He was a member of the Frances Sherman Auxiliary, Post 212. He was a loving, devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, camping, fishing, and grilling. 

Surviving are seven daughters, Michele Snyder, Marissa (Mike) Norcross, Maissie Vance, Miranda (Kevin) Spoor, Melinda Vance,  Melanie Vance, and Mollina (Robert) Munday, two sons, Matthew (Shannon) Vance, and Marcuis Vance, 19 grandchildren, Morgan, Christina, Joshua, Brandon, Seth, Jett, Caprice, Ethan, Maddox, Dominic, Wyatt, Charlize, Noah, Karmyn, Owen, Hunter, Addison, Ian and Hadley, four great-grandchildren Greyson, Joshua Cody, Luka and Lucian, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara, his brother Paul, two daughters, Melissa Spaich and Marriah Vance, and one grandson, Cody Snyder.

Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Carl’s life on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 4:00 pm at the Bradford VFW Event Center.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Society.
