CAMERON COUNTY MARKETING INTERN, DELANEY ROWAN, REFLECTS ON SUMMER INTERNSHIP
This past summer, I had the opportunity to intern at the Cameron County Commissioners’ Office as the Marketing Intern. I have been the person behind the summer’s posts on the Look Up Cameron County Facebook Page and website. I have learned a lot during my time in the Commissioner’s Office that I will take with me through college and my career. During my time here, I have boosted the amount of followers on the Facebook page, gained more insights and page views on the website, conducted interviews with local businesses and community members to better promote their businesses and share their stories.
I have implemented website and email chain software within the office, promoted many events on social media, and completed newsletters and press releases to send out information to local media and the community about events. I am happy to share that the Commissioners have extended my Marketing Internship.
I will be working remotely from college and will be continuing to work with the Look Up Cameron County content and the Commissioners’ Office. I am grateful for this opportunity, and I have had a great experience working for the Commissioner’s Office. I have met a lot of people during my internship, and I am glad that I have had the opportunity to expand my friendships throughout the community. I am glad I was able to explore our town and see the sense of community first hand.
