Bruce Edward West, 63, of Route 321 in East Kane
Bruce Edward West, 63, of Route 321 in East Kane, passed away Monday (September 2, 2024) at his home. Born August 25, 1961, in Bradford, he is a son of Virginia J. (Warner) West of Kane and the late Dale West. On April 20, 1991, at St. Bernard’s in Bradford, he married Marianne (Przestrzelski) West who survives.
He was a 1979 graduate of Bradford High School and received his BS in Geology at the University of Pittsburgh- Bradford. He was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
Bruce was retired from Mt. Jewett Particleboard where he was employed as a quality control manager. Recently he was a caretaker and handyman at East Kane Methodist Church. He was a kind and helpful busy body, who could fix absolutely anything. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a lifelong aviation fanatic and dirt track lover.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Marianne, and his mother, are a son, Tyler (Emily) West of Kane; a daughter, Laurel West of Kane; his brother, David (Maura) West of Butler and their two children, Virginia L. West of Mercer and David West, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, along with several nieces and nephews also survive. He will be dearly missed by his beloved rescue pets, Rocket and Charlie.
Bruce was preceded in death, besides his father Dale, by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Bernice Warner; and his paternal grandparents, Chester and Thelma West.
Visitation will be held at the East Kane Methodist Church on Friday from 11:00am – 1:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm with The Rev. Calvin Cook and Father William O’Brien officiating.
