BRMC receives donation from The Chemo Care Bag Project for Cancer Patients
Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC), a Kaleida Health facility, is grateful for the continued partnership with The Chemo Care Bag Project, Inc. (CCBP), an organization dedicated to providing comfort and support to cancer patients through specially curated care bags. For the past eight years, BRMC has received and distributed these meaningful gifts to patients undergoing treatment at the cancer care centers in Bradford and Olean.
Since 2015, The Chemo Care Bag Project, Inc. has worked to brighten the journeys of cancer patients by assembling and delivering care bags filled with comforting items such as blankets, knit hats, lip balm, hand lotion, puzzle books, notebooks, pens, hard candies, and refillable water bottles. Each bag also includes a personal note of encouragement, reminding patients that they are not alone in their fight.
“At BRMC, we see firsthand how much these care bags mean to our patients,” said Lucy Nuzzo, CCBP program champion, BRMC. “Over the years, we have distributed more than 500 bags to patients at BRMC and OGH cancer care centers. It’s always heartwarming to witness the joy and comfort these thoughtful gifts bring during a time that doesn’t seem so bright.”
What began as a small tribute to Chauncey and Lynn Smith—who both lost their battles with cancer—has grown into a large-scale effort reaching 12 hospitals and treatment centers across Pennsylvania and New York. In 2024 alone, CCBP packed and delivered more than 1,000 bags, with even more expansion planned for the future. Since its inception, the organization has provided over 3,500 care bags, a milestone made possible through the generosity and support of the community.
