BRADFORD MAN SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
(MCKEAN COUNTY, Pennsylvania: April 4, 2024): District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that a state sentence was imposed for Child Pornography charges today at the McKean County Courthouse. Abrahm Hatcher, 21, of Bradford, was sentenced to incarceration of 30 months to 60 months plus 3 years of consecutive supervision.
On June 23, 2022, Internet Crimes Against Children forwarded a cybertip from the National Center For Missing & Exploited Children that 8 videos had been uploaded that were believed to depict child pornography. A Trooper with the Computer Crimes division of the Pennsylvania State Police was able to identify the account and IP address and, ultimately, the offender. Hatcher pled guilty to possessing and/or displaying 11 videos depicting child pornography. Under Pennsylvania Law, the offenses require he register as a sex offender under the law formerly known as Megan’s Law for 25 years.
DA Vettenburg-Shaffer noted that the statute dealing with child pornography considers each video the equivalent of 50 images. In addition to incarceration and supervision, Hatcher must provide a DNA sample and undergo sex offender treatment. He is not eligible for any early re-entry programs.
