Bradford Author Challenges Men to “Fight Like Hell” for Their Lives — One Page at a Time

BRADFORD, PA — Writer, podcaster, and men’s-ministry leader Josh Hatcher believes too many men are silently losing battles they never talk about. His new book, Fight Like Hell: A Journal for Men Who Won’t Back Down, turns that fight into a daily discipline instead of a private war.
Far from a typical self-help read, Fight Like Hell is a 30-day interactive journal filled with short reflections, challenges, and questions that push men to look inward and take honest inventory of their lives. Each page invites readers to slow down, confront what’s holding them back, and choose courage over comfort.
“Men are hurting, but most of us were never taught how to process pain,” Hatcher says. “We’re told to tough it out. What I’ve learned is that real toughness means facing the truth, forgiving yourself, and taking action. This journal gives men a way to actually do that—on paper, in real life, every day.”
Hatcher—known for his long-running podcast for men at Manlihood and leadership of the Tribe of Lions men’s microchurch at Open Arms Community Church—designed the book like a personal sparring partner. Each entry blends a short, plain-spoken meditation with prompts for reflection and guided action. Topics range from accountability and fatherhood to faith, anger, and purpose.
“I didn’t want to write another book that just tells guys to ‘be better,’” he explains. “I wanted to hand them a tool they could use—something that fits in a backpack, that gets messy, that helps them wrestle with God, their thoughts, and their choices.”
Written in the conversational tone Hatcher’s followers recognize from his podcasts and previous books, Fight Like Hell invites readers to bring their authentic selves to the page. It’s blunt, hopeful, and built for men who work long hours, raise families, and still want to grow stronger on the inside.
“You don’t fix your life overnight,” Hatcher adds. “But you can start fighting for it today. Ten minutes with a pen can change the direction of a whole week.”
The journal is available now on Amazon (amzn.to/3KOM6kt) in paperback.
