Bradford Area United Way Student Ambassadors Surpass Fundraising Target with $500 from Penny Wars
The United Way Student Ambassadors at Bradford Area High School are proud to announce the success of their recent Penny Wars fundraiser, which raised an impressive $500 to contribute to the United Way’s Annual Campaign. The initiative aimed not only to raise a sense of community and philanthropy within the school but also to support the broader mission of the United Way in the local region.
The standout class in the competition was Tony Doriguzzis’ Leader In Me group, which secured the top spot in fundraising by charting a notable 6,000 points. To recognize their efforts, the class will be treated to a pizza party generously sponsored by Pizza Napoli and Restaurant.
“We are thrilled to see the incredible generosity and teamwork displayed by the students in support of the United Way’s Annual Campaign. The success of the Penny Wars fundraiser, with the help of Jason Blatchley and Ken Coffman, not only highlights the compassion within the school community but also reinforces the importance of giving back,” said UWBA Executive Director Sarah Lonzi.
Lonzi continued to express gratitude for the students’ efforts, stating, “It is inspiring to witness the dedication of young individuals who understand the impact their contributions can have on the lives of those in need. The funds raised will go a long way in supporting the various initiatives and programs that the United Way undertakes to create positive change in our community.”
The United Way Student Ambassadors, along with the entire school, look forward to continuing their support for the United Way and their Annual Campaign by engaging in future initiatives that make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
