Beverly J. (Hoak) Mitchell, 96, of Coudersport and formerly of Roulette, PA
Beverly J. (Hoak) Mitchell, 96, of Coudersport and formerly of Roulette, PA passed away on January 30, 2023 at Sena Kean Nursing and Rehab., Smethport.
Born on May 16, 1926, in Roulette, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Cutler) Hoak. On January 8, 1946, she married Lloyd E. Mitchell, who preceded her in death on July 17, 2004.
Beverly was a lifelong resident of Roulette, where she was honored as Miss Roulette in 1940. She also played the trumpet in the Roulette Marching Band. Along with her parents, Beverly moved to Philadelphia when she was 17 to work in an aircraft factory during World War II. Additionally, she loved her home, her flower gardens, and her vegetable garden on Trout Brook Road, where she lived for the majority of her adult life. She was also employed at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Last but certainly not least, Beverly was a superb pie maker and crocheted extraordinary afghans and baby blankets.
Beverly is survived by two granddaughters, Caroline Ferraiuolo of Coral Springs, Florida, and Melissa Gagnon of Lauderhill, Florida; two great grandsons, Carlo Ferraiuolo and Luca Ferraiuolo, both of Coral Springs, Florida; a son-in-law, Charles Gagnon of Miami, Florida; and many nieces and nephews, including especially close nieces, Connie (Larry) Wykoff, Christie (Frank Granata) Marshall, and Sandra (Barry) Whitman, all of whom reside in Coudersport.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her daughter, Mona Gagnon; her husband, Lloyd E. Mitchell; many sisters-in-law as well as a brother-in-law; and many dear friends.
Upon Beverlyβs request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Lyman Cemetery in Roulette.
