Barbara Lynn Sherry, 78, of Evergreen Drive, Ridgway, PA
Barbara Lynn Sherry, 78, of Evergreen Drive, Ridgway, PA passed away peacefully at her home on August 5th surrounded by her loving family following a brief, very courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
She was born February 26, 1946 in Ridgway, PA to A. Otto & Edythe Anderson Buehler; they both preceded her in death.
On October 18, 1997, she married the half that made her whole, Daniel P. Sherry who preceded her in death on June 28, 2022. What a beautiful reunion this must have been in Heaven.
She attended Ridgway Area Schools. She became a homemaker and raised three beautiful daughters. Throughout her life she welcomed many people into her home and worked as an assistant at the Lehman Funeral Home and various retail jobs, her most rewarding one at The Bon-Ton in DuBois. Barbara also shared her love & compassion by being a caregiver to various friends and family when needed. Giving of her time to others was, by far, the greatest gift.
She is survived by three daughters, DeAnna I. Arevalo (Santiago) of Missouri, Marna L. Bennett (Samuel) of Kersey, and Carla J. Snyder (Jamie) of Ridgway; 7 grandchildren: Alexandra, Selena, Iliana, Caleb, Harrison, Edythe, and Otto, and 7 great grandchildren.
She is survived by one sister, Pauline H. Dunn, one brother Tom Buehler (Roslyn), loving sister-in-laws June Buehler, Althea Buehler and Nhan Buehler and a very special cousin who is her namesake, Barbara Tell, along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers Jim, Wayne, Paul, Fred and Otto, in infancy, and one sister, Marcella Rickard.
Barbara was well known for her huge heart, delicious baked goods, home cooked meals on the table at any given time, and her ability to make you feel like family after just meeting you. One of her many passions was beautifying the homestead that she and Dan built together full of love and surrounded by her many perennials. Barbara enjoyed a girls day out and shopping, sleepovers with her grandkids, sewing with her family, and hosting holiday gatherings. She always found joy in the simplicity that life brought and could be found relaxing on her porch, visiting with whomever stopped. She loved Jesus and her family finds comfort in knowing she is eternally at peace.
A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at the Hallton Church Bible Training Center at 657 Evergreen Drive on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1 pm. Officiating will be Ronald L. Burkett, Pastor of the Hallton Church.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
