Barbara J. Tomaski, 71, of 173 Terra Cotta Rd., Johnsonburg, PA passed away late Saturday night, May 25, 2024, at her residence with her family by her side following a lengthy illness. She was born on March 28, 1953, in St. Marys, a daughter to the late Robert and June Herbstritt Wehler. On October 27, 1973, in Queen of the World Church, St. Marys, she married John M. Tomaski, and he survives.
Barb was a 1971 graduate of St. Marys Public High School and has lived in Johnsonburg since her marriage. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg. She was devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren, she loved her Sunday dinners, cooking, baking, camping, shopping, anything to spend time with family. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.
Barb had retired in 2016 from PMP in St. Marys after 43 years of service and she had also worked as a part-time hospitality aide at Pinecrest Manor for several years.
In addition to her husband John at home, Barb is survived by her children Mary Johnson (Cliff) of Ridgway, Charlotte Weidow (Scott) of St. Marys, Annie Washburn (Kieth) of Johnsonburg, John J. “JJ” Tomaski, Jr. and companion Tanya Iorfida of Johnsonburg and Jodi Andres (Tim) of St. Mary, her grandchildren Brooke, Samantha, Dylan, Hailey, Kyle, Trevor and Piper and her great-grandchildren Beau and Arielle. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Debbie Wensel (Craig) of Kane, Mary Lee DePrator of St. Marys, Bob Wehler (Bonnie) of Kersey, Terry Baumgratz (Paul) of St. Marys, Georgie Newell of St. Marys, Dale Wehler (Tammy) of St. Marys and Dianne Gies (Tim) of St. Marys, her special Goodson Dan Wehler and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her stepfather, Ret. Col. Jim Balloch and a grandson Jacob Johnson.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service for Barbara J. Tomaski to be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg as celebrant. Interment will be private.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9 AM to service time at 11 AM.
