Barbara F. Latcovich, 99, of Ridgway, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Snyder Memorial Health Care after a brief illness.
She was born on July 31, 1924, in Highland Twp., a daughter of the late Victor and Mary Benic Latcovich.
Barb lived in Ridgway most of her life and a lifelong member of St. Leo Church. She volunteered for many years as a money counter at the church and was a self-employed beautician for over 50 years. Barb enjoyed dancing to polka music, reading true crime books, and playing cards. She was a proud member of the Women’s Cursillo #151. Barb always loved to be around her family, giving hugs to each of them every time she left.
She is survived by 2 nephews who together Barb and sister Katie raised as their own sons: Stephen Latcovich and his wife Christine of Ridgway, Daniel Latcovich and his wife Nora of Erie, PA, great nieces and nephews, Sarah (Joseph) McCurdy, Erin Erginer, Katie Latcovich, Jessica (Travis) Beimel, Daniel Latcovich, Jr., other nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Katherine Latcovich and Ann Pasquino, 5 brothers: Joseph, Stanley, George, John, and Frank Latcovich, and a great nephew, Justin F. Latcovich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Leo Magnus Church, 111 Depot Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, with Fr. Mark Latcovich, Pastor of St Ladislas Catholic Church, West Lake, OH.
Burial will be at St. Leo Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Krise Funeral Home, 130 Center Street, Ridgway, PA 15853, on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo Magnus Church or Ridgway Animal Haven, 20 Rocky Top Road, Ridgway, PA 15853.
