K9s with the County Detective Bureau K9 Unit accompanied District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer to the Senior Expo organized by Representative Martin Causer and held at the Kane Area Community Center on Friday, September 8th. K9s LG, Nico and Izzy, along with their handlers Bob and Vicki Rinfrette and Jay Prosser manned a booth at the Expo where they showed visitors what common drugs and paraphernalia look. The group also talked to visitors about the K9 Unit and the various expertise of each dog – drug detection, tracking, and explosives. The DA, K9s and the handlers attended the Senior Expo held at Pitt-Bradford also organized by Representative Causer in August. No other Sandimmune formulations are impacted.
Sheng Kee of California, Inc. is voluntarily recalling varieties of Mooncake Gift Boxes for customers that have any issues because they may contain undeclared egg wash. People who have allergies to egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled Mooncakes were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders. We are working with our wholesalers and retailers to relabel and refit the current boxes.
Sep 12th, 2023 Description On May 10th, 2023 City of Bradford Police responded to Oak Hill on Lincoln Avenue for an intoxicated male laying in the bushes. Officers located a male named Simon Albright intoxicated and passed out. EMS was called to transport the male to BRMC. The male was found to also be in possession of Marijuana and paraphernalia.
On Tuesday, September 12th, 2023 at approximately 6:00 AM, members of the Cuba Police Department with the assistance of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team and the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on State Route 305 in the Town of Cuba.
The search warrant was a result of a culmination of complaints from the citizens of Cuba and information from tips as well as police operations. Cuba Police entered the residence on State Route 305 and seized cash, fentanyl, over 50 LBS of marijuana, firearms and other dangerous weapons as well as several other items of narcotic paraphernalia.
The following arrest was made in relation to this search warrant:
Gary A. Froelich, 75, of St. Marys, PA passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at DuBois Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 12, 1948 in Bismarck, ND, a son of the late Edward and Alta Ferber Froelich.
On August 2, 1971, in Hagerstown, MD, he married Pamela Bland Froelich, who survives of St. Marys. Together they shared more than 52 years of marriage.
Gary was Lutheran by faith and retired in 2012 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after working as a Park Manager at the East Branch Dam and Lake for many years. Gary loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Causer, Owlett Express Optimism for Denton Hill’s Future
HARRISBURG – The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) today announced it will work with locally based Denton Go, LLC, to grow recreational opportunities in all four seasons at Denton Hill State Park in Potter County.
Reps. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) and Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) issued the following statement in response to the announcement:
“This is great news for our region. Revitalizing Denton Hill and expanding it to a four-season destination will bring significant benefits for economic growth in the region, drawing more customers into our existing small businesses and encouraging the development of others. With Cherry Springs State Park just 20 minutes away, the upgrades at Denton Hill are sure to benefit both parks.
“We also continue to hear from local people who share how much they miss skiing at Denton Hill, and it will be wonderful to bring back that opportunity for them, along with other recreational opportunities throughout the year.
“We encourage DCNR and the Department of General Services to expedite the work to get Denton Hill up and running as soon as possible.”
According to DCNR’s announcement, Denton Go, LLC, is a new company comprised of three members from the local area that was formed to operate the concession at the park. The company brings a wealth of business and mountain recreation experience that includes ski and hospitality operations.
The next step is for DCNR and Denton Go, LLC, to work out the terms of a 35-year lease, which includes a capital investment from Denton Go. The design phase for park improvements will coincide with the issuance of the concession agreement. DCNR has committed $10 million in capital investments to the park.
Connie M. POTTER, 78, of Harrison Valley, PA, died Tuesday, September 12, 2023 in her home.
Born December 10, 1944, in Wellsboro, she was the daughter of Oliver E. and Adaline J. Giantomasi Beebe. On December 17, 2008, in Brookfield, she married Stuart L. Potter, who predeceased her on December 11, 2021.
A 1962 graduate of Cowanesque Valley High School, she was employed by Metalcraft in Knoxville beginning in 1984 for 10 years and by Rosenblooms in Westfield for 20 years, retiring in 2014.

ABOUT THE VACCINES & MICROCHIPS
Every dog and pet cat are required by law to be vaccinated for rabies, a viral disease that is 100% fatal once symptoms appear. A one-year shot will be given at the clinic unless proof of a previous vaccine is presented. Then, a three-year shot can be administered. Animals need to be 16 weeks or older for a rabies vaccine.
The distemper combo is a core vaccine recommended by veterinarians. In dogs, it protects against canine distemper virus, two types of adenovirus – hepatitis and kennel cough, parainfluenza and parvovirus. In cats, it protects against feline panleukopenia (feline distemper), feline viral rhinotracheitis (feline herpes) and calicivirus plus Feline leukemia virus (FeLV). The vaccine can be started for dogs and cats as young as six weeks old and is repeated every 2-4 weeks (boosters) until the animal is 16 weeks old. If over 16 weeks at the first dose, usually only one more booster is needed in four weeks.
Microchips are a permanent identification system that helps your pet get back home should they ever become lost. They do not track your pet’s location, but when scanned, the chip provide a unique number that ties back to your contact information through the microchip company. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, microchipped dogs are twice as likely to be returned to owners and microchipped cats are more than 20 times likely to be returned. However, only one in six microchips are actually registered, and many aren’t updated with current contact information, making them useless. Betty Mae Mohney Johnson, 67, of Park Ave. Ext. in Kane, PA passed away Friday (Sept. 8) at her residence. Born March 31, 1956 in Kane, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Georgean (Blauser) Mohney Sr. She married Virgil Johnson, who survives.
Betty had worked at Kane Screen and also at the Highland Group in Sheffield. She enjoyed baking, which earned her the name “cookie lady” to many of her friends and she loved her many pets.
Sep 11th, 2023– On 01/09/2023 the City of Bradford Police detained the defendant Patrick J. Ryan assisting US Postal Inspectors who were conducted a separate investigation. The defendant Ryan was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Those items were sent to PSP Labs for testing and substance confirmation. The test results would later come back showing the paraphernalia contained Methamphetamine and Fentanyl both Schedule II dangerous substances.
