October 20, 2025 UPDATE: Work on this project is complete and Bartlow Drive is open to traffic. 

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a bridge replacement project continues on Bartlow Drive (T-557) in Penn Township, Lycoming County.

Starting Monday, August 25, 2025, Bartlow Drive will be closed between Sunrise Drive and Barto Hallow Road while the contractor, Sikora Brothers Paving, Inc., replaces the existing bridge spanning Gregs Run with a box culvert. A detour in place using Barto Hollow Road, Beaver Lake Road (Route 2073), and Sunrise Drive will be in place during the bridge replacement.

Foods Inc., a Santa Fe Springs, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 91,585 pounds of specific lots of ready-to-eat (RTE) breakfast burrito and wrap products containing egg that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm), the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

​HONESDALE, Pa. (October 20) – Today, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) joined Wayne County Commissioners, the Lackawaxen River Trails group, and others to celebrate the opening of the new Indian Orchard River Access in Texas Township, Wayne County.

The access area features a concrete boat launch for canoes and kayaks, a paved access road and parking area, restroom, walking trail, and picnic areas for nature viewing along the Lackawaxen River.

Ruth L. Dinnison, 98, of Wellsboro passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the home of her daughter Lianne.

Ruth was the wife of the late Hugh Dinnison, her husband of 64 years. They were married on October 18, 1947.  Her passing was on what would have been their 78^th anniversary.

Ruth was born on April 6, 1927, in Hawthorne, New Jersey to the late Alfred and Mildred (Goodwin) Hazelton.

Perfect conditions for runners in the Sinnemahone Ultra Trail Run.  This years event included a new route eliminating most private property and having the most participants compete in the 50k since the inception of the race nearly 20 years ago.  Also new was adding the option to run the 50k as a relay team.

Finishing first in the 12k was 23 year old Raul Burne from Georgia with a time of 1:04:03.  Euginia Resendiz Clark from Emporium finished second with a time of 1:08:05.

Join certified bird bander, David Hauber, and his wife, Fay, as they attempt to band Northern Saw-whet Owls right here in Sizerville State Park!  We will have a short presentation on PA owls, followed by instructions on what to do and expect during the bird banding demonstration. Wear sturdy shoes since we will be walking on trails, and feel free to bring a water bottle, snacks, flashlights, and lots of layers! 

Last week in review: The men’s and women’s soccer teams won both of their matches, with the women now assured of their fourth straight playoff appearance and their ninth postseason trip in the NCAA era (since 2014), while the men’s golf and women’s volleyball teams also saw action, and a women’s tennis player earned a United East Conference honor.

Susan K. MARBLE, 50, of Cross Fork, PA, formerly of Galeton and Ulysses, died Thursday, October 16, 2025 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.  Born December 13, 1974, in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Ernest Lee Davenport and Maryland R. Weeks Davenport. 

Susan devoted her life to raising her family.
