Why Hands and Feet Get Cold
Dennis “Denny” Forquer, 83, of Mt. Jewett—and formerly of Kushequa—passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, surrounded by love and care at Sena-Kean Manor. Born March 29, 1942 in Bradford to Lester and Florence (Transue) Forquer, Denny grew into a man celebrated for his patience, kindness, quiet strength.
On December 23, 1961, he married the love of his life, Linda (Blair) Forquer, in Kushequa. Their marriage was a true and enduring partnership—marked by devotion, resilience, and the kind of humor shared only by two people who have spent a lifetime loving one another.
Jeff A. Holly, 70, of Gates Hollow, Bradford, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, with his grandsons by his side at his home.
Jeff was born in Bradford on February 1, 1955, he was a son of the late Kenneth N. and Mary Lou (Wolcott) Holly, Sr. He was a 1973 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School.
On October 9, 1982, in the West Branch United Methodist Church, he married Marcia L. (Manges) Holly who preceded him in death on February 15, 2020.
Michael J. Hammond, 66, of Coudersport, passed away Monday (December 8, 2025) at UPMC-Williamsport.
He was born November 10, 1959 in Port Allegany, the son of Frederick and Dorothy (Trimm) Hammond.
Mikey was a 1978 graduate of Port Allegany High School and was a longtime worker initially for the former Erway’s Market, now Kaytee’s Family Restaurant and Market, as well as the Potter County Vet Clinic, all in Coudersport.
Mike had been involved with many things over the years, but close to his heart, was his affiliation with the Sheetz Family Christmas.
He is survived by:

Four brothers: Bernard L.R. (Dawn) Hammond of Rixford, Richard T. (Charlene Eaton) Hammond of Greensburg, PA, Dean M. (Amy) Hammond of Troupsburg, NY, and Terry (Brenda) Williams of Keating Summit Four sisters: Sally A. VanGorder and Susan I. (Mark) Herbert, both of Port Allegany, Nancy M. (Gary) Hagg and Laura L. (Mark VanGorder) Elliott, both of Smethport And many nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Mikey was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas A. Hammond in 2024, as well as brother-in-laws: Eugene VanGorder, Wade Elliott and James Stiles.
A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Sondra Ann Darroch, 89, of Wellsboro, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Broad Acres, Wellsboro.
She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on April 24, 1936, the daughter of the late Alfred Corlett and Zoe Kathryn (Moser) Darroch. She married Ronald A. Belbutowski on August 27, 1955, who preceded her in death.
Charmaine Ruth Royer, 83, of Coudersport, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, at her home. She was born in Lancaster on November 18, 1942, the daughter of the late Chedwicke and Alice Mae (Beck) Hawke. She married Larry E. Royer on Feb. 24, 1962.
Charmaine enjoyed dancing, knitting, cooking, going to the beach, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Larry, she is survived by daughters: Annette E. Royer of Millsboro, DE; Suzette R. Royer of Coudersport; Lynnette Hart of Ephrata; a half-brother, Gregory Econrode of Lancaster; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Montoursville, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Highway Safety Network, Williamsport Area School District, the Williamsport High School Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Club, and the Lycoming County Sheriff’s office held a media event today to highlight the dangers of impaired driving through the holiday season.
The safety partners teamed up for a traffic crash themed holiday tree, honoring those who lost their lives in impaired driving, teen driving, and overall crashes last year in Lycoming County.

Alayna Mckervey is the Student of the Week for the week of December 8th. She is participating in the morning session of the Early Childhood Education program at the Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center. Alayna is a senior enrolled at Port Allegany High School.Upon graduation, Alayna plans to continue taking the necessary steps toward her long-term goal of opening her own daycare center. With her strong work ethic, passion for early childhood education, and leadership experience, she is well on her way to making that dream a reality.
Sharon L. (Wetherbee) Patterson, age 83, of Wellsboro, PA died peacefully at home on Sunday, December 7, 2025. She was born on July 31, 1942, in Corning, NY, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Ilene (Jones) Wetherbee, and was the wife of the late James L. Patterson.
Sharon was formerly employed by Mergenthaler and was a member of the Wellsboro United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated mother to her family and enjoyed cooking, canning, and spending time with her family, friends, and grand dogs. She also enjoyed cross stitching, reading, listening to music, and family genealogy.

John E. Clay, 74, of Coudersport, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at UPMC – Cole. He was born in Lebanon on January 4, 1951, the son of the late John H. and Treva S. (Weimer) Clay.
John worked for the H.B. Reese Candy Company, Hershey. He was also a carpenter and enjoyed building things. He also enjoyed time with his son Ben, and spending time with his grand kids, and great grand kids.

Online Voting Open for Paint the Plow Program in District 2
Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing that public voting is now open for this year’s Paint the Plow program. A total of six snowplows were creatively painted by high school students in three counties.
Paint the Plow is a statewide initiative that highlights safe winter driving while showcasing the artistic talents of students across Pennsylvania. This year’s theme, “Don’t race. Allow some space.”, encourages motorists to keep a safe distance from plows and other vehicles during winter weather conditions.
Earlier this year, students from Centre, Clearfield, and Clinton counties put their creativity to work, transforming PennDOT plow blades.
