Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on September 7
Allegany County will host its 23rd Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Since 2010, the Allegany County Solid Waste Department, with the help of all County Residents, has collected and safely disposed of more than 150,000 pounds of Household Hazardous Waste. Some of the most common items accepted include pesticides and insecticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, cleaning chemicals, and oil-based paints.
Additionally, since 2022, in coordination with PaintCare and under the New York State Product Stewardship Plan, Allegany County residents have been encouraged to bring latex and other household paints for proper disposal.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., pre-registration is required and space is limited.
