Andrew Ernest Agosti, beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, coach, and co-worker, passed away on March 20, 2025, with his loved ones by his side.  Andy was born on July 28, 1976, in Ridgway, PA, to parents William and Ann Dietz Agosti. His life was built on the values they instilled in him: a love of adventure (especially at the beach), helping others, a strong work ethic, and a passion for football—particularly the Buffalo Bills.

In true adventurous fashion, Andy and the love of his life, Day Olszewski, took a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas, NV, on December 18, 1999, where they were married.  Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories with their children: Jordan (28), Alexander (24) and his fiancé, Lauren Squires, Christian (10), and Everly (7).  Andy loved nothing more than planning their next camping trip or family adventure to Walt Disney World. He was the best husband and father; his family was his greatest joy.

Andy was a 1994 graduate of St. Marys Area High School.  He played football for the Clarion University Golden Eagles and graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering.  He also earned a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

After college, he dedicated most of his professional life to Speer Carbon, where he served as plant superintendent.  He was known for his unwavering dedication to the company and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.  Andy also shared his expertise by teaching at Penn State DuBois and served as an ARC carrier for the United States Postal Service.

Outside of work, Andy’s commitment to young people and his love for sports made a lasting impact on the community.  He was the Director and Head Coach of the St. Marys Stallions football program for many years and helped found the St. Marys Area Flag Football League.  He also served as a PIAA football referee and was the secretary for the Central Pennsylvania Youth Football League.  His contributions extended to coaching St. Marys Area Soccer and St. Marys Area Middle School Track and Field, touching countless lives through his guidance and mentorship.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew and Lucille Agosti, and Ernest and Adeline Dietz.  Andy will be lovingly remembered and missed by his siblings: Jennifer Agosti and her love, Heath Goodyear, Eric Agosti and his wife, Kathy, and William Agosti and his love, Jenn Vallimont.  His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart, and he had a remarkable ability to captivate them with his playful nature and classic dad jokes.

Andy was thoughtful, caring, kind, patient, respected, and loved.  From marrying Day in Las Vegas to their many family camping trips and Disney World vacations, Andy filled his life with exploration, laughter, and a drive to make every moment count.  His adventurous spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched beyond his treasured family—whether at work or in the community, he made a lasting impact as a coach, mentor, and friend.

A celebration of Andy’s life will be held in April and will be announced at a future date.
