Allan was born in Wellsboro, PA on April 25th, 1951 to the late Kenneth Edgar and Mary Virginia (Little) Hammond.
Allan spent many years as a truck driver, working for Schneider Transport and several other companies, traveling across the United States . Al was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro, PA and enjoyed Camping, NASCAR, birdwatching, watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Yankees. He was fortunate to grow up with three siblings: Bonnie Marie Hammond Brown, Arden Edgar Hammond, and Michael Lynn Hammond. Most of his childhood was spent on the Hammond farm on Shumway Hill and he enjoyed telling stories about it along with spending time with his grandparents and special aunt, Dorothy.
Allan was a faithful husband to his wife, Pastor Glenda Brooks Hammond. They shared 46 years of marriage together and during that time raised two children: Christopher Allan (Kelly Jo) Hammond of Dayton, OH, and Heather Amanda Hammond of Norwood, MA. Their legacy continues in their two grandchildren: Connor Allan and Coralie Rae Hammond. All will miss him dearly.
