All Fired Up Kickin Ash Winners
Cameron County Chamber of Commerce All Fired Up Kickin Ash BBQ filled downtown with smoke and foodies. Before showers moved in the event space was filled with hungry folks purchasing ribs, pulled pork, turkey legs, brisket and even desserts that were “smoked”.
The big winner was Morts Meat Mafia from Gallitzin which the judges declared made the best bbq wet sauce, wings, turkey, ribs and brisket. Jason’s Smokin from Brockway served the judges macaroni and cheese which was top according to the judges. Smittys eat-n shack topped the competitors with an apple cobbler. The judges awarded Smitty’s eat n shack the $500 cash award in the Emporium Food Market Mystery Meat category. This year the mystery meat was bison. Smoke ‘em if ya got ‘em from Emporium took home the People’s Choice Award. Other competitors included Tubbys Tavern and Everything Wood Fired.
Executive Director of the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce, Tina Solak says the event shows off the ‘smokin’ skills of the PA Wilds while serving as a fundraiser for local organizations. Nam Knights of America Allegheny Mountain Chapter, Christabelle Club and Cameron County Clay Crushers mingled with foodies. “The chamber strives to use local businesses when hosting events. The t-shirts were designed and printed by Art n Ink, and the non-alcoholic beverages were shopped from Emporium Food Market.
The date for 2025 is the fourth Saturday of the month, September 27.
