All Fired Up Kickin Ash Looking for Teams
Cameron County Chamber of Commerce hosting the annual All Fired Up Kickin Ash BBQ competition on Saturday September 23. Emporium Food Market is the prime sponsor. The highlight of the event is the mystery meat competition. Competitors can take home a $500 cash prize.
“The event showcases the culinary skills of entrepreneurs and allows them to sell their items,” according to Cameron County Chamber of Commerce executive director Tina Solak. Music drinks and food draws a crowd to the event each year which is held in the town square in Emporium. Purchasing ribs, sandwiches and side dishes along with dessert begins at noon.
Contestants can enter as many categories as they desire for one registration fee of $50.00. They include: wings, brisket, turkey, ribs, pork, dessert, and side dishes. An additional fee is charged to enter the mystery meat competition.

Chamber Teams up with ECCOTA
Cameron County Chamber of Commerce & Artisan Center working with Elk County Council on the Arts and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts to provide funding opportunities to artists in Cameron County. A free informational meeting is set for September 28 at 5pm at the Camern County Chamber of Commerce & Artisan Center.
Elk County Council on the Arts receives funding from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and has the responsibility of vetting art projects and artists for funding. The funding can be used to create a specific piece of art, or upgrade equipment or studio space where that art is created. Pennsylvania Council on the Arts funds the artist in residency program and continues to look for teachers that can be contracted for the residency program.
