Alex C. Freeman of 26 Oxford Street passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the Bradford Pavilion.
Dick was born April 10, 1927 in East Smethport and was the son of Archie H. And Crystal Cunningham Freeman.
Dick was a 1947 graduate of Olean High School and continued his education at American University in Washington, DC for a year. Dick served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 and then the Airforce Reserves for the Korean Conflict for 3 years. After serving in the military, he worked in hotels in both Washington, DC and then Bradford for over 40 years retiring in the 2000 from being part owner of the Howard Johnson. He was known as being very patriotic and was very proud to serve his country.
Dick enjoyed music, art, reading, going out to eat, and traveling all over the world.
Dick is survived by many nieces and nephews including, Deborah A. Kolasinski, Joseph S. Kolasinski and Karen L. Kolasinski all of Olean, NY.
Dick was predeceased by; his parents, Archie and Crystal; 9 siblings, Catherine Rutherford, Virginia Bess, Hannah Becker, Ruth Mary Freeman, Richard Freeman, Archie Freeman Jr., Sidney Freeman, Patience Kolasinski, and Crystal King.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 10:00am at Church of the Ascension, 26 Chautauqua Pl, Bradford, PA. The Rev. Stacey Fussell, Rector will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Church Cemetery.
