A Century of Caring: United Way Invites the Community to Help Finish Its 100th Campaign Together

December 20, 2025 — As the year comes to a close, the United Way of the Bradford Area is asking the community to help bring its 100th Annual Campaign to a meaningful finish. While the campaign officially ends on December 31, donations will continue to be accepted through January, giving everyone a chance to be part of this historic moment.
For 100 years, United Way has been woven into the fabric of the Bradford community. It has shown up quietly and consistently—when families are struggling, when children need support, and when neighbors need a helping hand. Today, United Way helps fund more than 40 local programs each year, touching lives across Bradford, Port Allegany, and Smethport.
Because of the generosity already shown, the campaign is making steady progress:
- Bradford: 64% of the $300,000 goal
- Port Allegany: 28% of the $18,999 goal
- Smethport: 60% of the $10,000 goal
With the finish line in sight, this final stretch is about coming together—just as this community has done for generations.
“Every gift represents a neighbor helping a neighbor,” said United Way Executive Director, Sarah Lonzi. “When we reach our goal, more families receive support, more children are cared for, and more people have somewhere to turn in moments that matter most. This is what community looks like.”
This year’s campaign is especially significant as United Way celebrates 100 years of impact, made possible by the continued commitment of donors, volunteers, partner agencies, and community leaders. The programs funded by United Way exist because people choose to give, and because a community comes together to say, everyone matters.
As the year ends, residents are encouraged to consider a year-end gift. Contributions of $250 or more are tax deductible, and every donation, large or small, helps ensure that vital programs remain strong in the year ahead.
