HG Treble Choir Members Tp Perform October 6th
On Sunday, October 6th at 4:00pm the HG Treble Choir and the younger children’s group, Choir Too, will present a program of choral music that explores a fascinating collection of musical works and traditions that all contribute to the American Experience. The program has a rich variety of offerings with composers and songwriters from vastly different backgrounds, emerging as much from the fields, ranges, and rivers as they do from the cities.
The music that will be shared reflects the merging of America’s indigenous population, the folk and religious traditions of various immigrant groups, and people enslaved. Choral director Thomas Putnam shares, “Every song tells a part of America’s story. The Autumn Chorale is the first of our year-long celebration of America’s many-voiced story.”
The Autumn Chorale will also feature the beloved “Brothers” from HG’s recent production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This group of local men wowed audiences this summer with their powerful and joyful singing in the popular musical, and will take to the stage again at the Autumn Chorale to share their voices.
Tickets ($10 for adults, $5 under 18) for the October 6th performance at 4:00pm are available at HGP.Booktix.com, or by calling to reserve at 570-724-2079. The Autumn Chorale takes place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wellsboro, on the corner of Pearl and Charles Streets on the Green.
