BEACON LIGHT RECEIVES WHATEVER IT TAKES AWARD
BRADFORD, Pa (June 10, 2024)— Beacon Light Behavioral Health System (BLBHS), an affiliate of Journey Health System, is proud to announce their recent recognition in the Multisystemic Therapy (MST) community for demonstrating outstanding and meritorious service. The BLBHS MST program received the MST “Whatever It Takes” certificate of recognition from the national board of directors at MST Services via a nomination by Adelphoi Village.
For 15 years, the BLBHS MST team of three, has been committed to transforming the lives of troubled youth and their families in McKean, Warren, Cameron, Elk and Potter counties. Each staff handles nearly 12 cases per year.
“I am proud of this team for how much they give to the families they serve each and every day,” said BLBHS MST Supervisor Lynette Hughes. “The clinical work they provide is exemplary and their ability to “Do Whatever It Takes” is amazing. I am so proud of this team, everything that they’ve accomplished and I am very honored to receive this award from MST Services.”
MST is an evidence-base, intensive family and community-based treatment program that empowers youth (ages 12-17) and their families to function responsibly over the long-term. When partnered with law enforcement and the juvenile justice system, it plays a unique bridge-building role in achieving positive shared outcomes for youth, families, schools and communities at large.
Testimonials from some of the BLBHS MST key stakeholders on the nomination form included, “I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding work that Beacon Light’s MST program has provided to the residents of McKean County over the past fifteen years.
As a county partner, I have had the honor of witnessing firsthand the remarkable impact that the MST program has had on the lives of clients and their families. Throughout its history, the program has demonstrated a remarkable ability to adapt to the evolving needs of our community. Its unwavering commitment to navigating the challenges inherent in providing behavioral health services in a rural setting while maintaining the efficacy of the MST program is truly commendable.
I have witnessed firsthand the dedication of the program’s team in ensuring that every individual receives the support and care they need to thrive. For me, the success of Beacon Light’s MST program reaffirms that a strong continuum of services within our county is not solely about finding the ‘right program’, but about having dedicated, compassionate individuals committed to collaborating in the best interests of our community. Lynette and her team exemplify these qualities, and I deeply value their ongoing dedication to serving our community through the MST program.”
A parent advocate also stated, “I have found MST to be a very valuable service provided to families that I work with. Parents have reported to me how helpful this therapy has been in keeping their child in their home. I can share the biggest change I often see in families is that the parent feels empowered to appropriately interact with their child.
The response of the therapists to both school and home shows dedication. The referral process at Beacon Light is easy, therapists are engaging with the family, school, and those of us that work alongside the family, as well. Our MST team is truly a blessing to our community and a pleasure to work with.”
Congratulations to the incredibly talented professionals at the BLBHS MST program for being honored by their peers and consumers.
