This afternoon the Knoxville-Deerfield Vol. Fire Company was alerted for a cat stuck in a tree. The cat had been there for 4-5 days. After members arrived at location it was determined that we would not be able to reach it with standard ladders. The department contacted Billings Park Association to see if their bucket truck was available. Clifford Stermer with the bucket truck arrived shortly after contacting him. Within 15-20 mins and a little persuasion by some cat food Clifford was able to grab ahold of the cat and safely bring it back to the ground. The cat then proceeded to fill it’s belly with the rest of the cat food that was left in the can. A huge thank you to Clifford Stermer and Billings Park Association for there use of their bucket truck to help rescue this cat.
