McKean County’s “Backyard Tour” will be held May 10th.
Event includes Tour, trivia, and a fun filled day touring McKean County
Bradford, Pa.- You’ve lived in McKean County your whole life and you think you know what makes this area a great place to visit, but do you really? Here is your chance to experience Bradford, Kane, Mt. Jewett, Smethport, & Eldred as a visitor in your own “Backyard.” The Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau will host a “Backyard Tour” on May 10, 2024. Tourists, residents, business owners, and staff are invited to attend. This is your chance to tour McKean County as a visitor via deluxe motorcoach.
The tour group participants will meet at 8:30 a.m., Friday, May 10, at the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau Welcome Center at 80 E. Corydon Street in Bradford. Guests will travel a fun and informational itinerary via motorcoach throughout the county, returning to the Welcome Center at around 5 pm.
The tour will include the Penn Brad Oil Museum, Marilyn Horne Museum & Exhibit Center, Zippo/Case Museum, the Eldred WWII Museum, Kinzua Sky Walk, and Kinzua Bridge Visitors Center in Mt. Jewett. A tour of Laughing Owl Press, followed by a tour and tasting at the Wilds Sonshine Factory. Ending with a tasting, tour, and snack at CJ Spirits – in Kane before we return to the ANFVB in Bradford.
A buffet lunch will be provided at The Kinzua Bridge State Park and Sky Walk by Eddie’s on Main, located in Port Allegany. On the return journey from Kane, tour participants will travel a scenic drive through the ANF and learn about the forest from an Allegheny National Forest employee.
The tour fee, including lunch, tastings, and snacks is only $50 per person for members of the ANF Visitors Bureau and $55 for non-members. Door prizes will be given away during trivia to participants.
