Cameron County Craft Group Coming to the Chamber
It has been 4 years since the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce hosted knitting and crocheting on Tuesday nights. Recently an Emporium resident requested that a crafter night be held at the facility. Kari Doud will host the events Tuesday nights from 6-8pm.
Executive Director Tina Solak said she has been looking for a person to resurrect the weekly free program after receiving numerous inquiries about the status of the program.
“Several crafters in the community were offered the opportunity to use the chamber space, but this is a time commitment,” explains chamber executive director Tina Solak. Doud approached the chamber with an idea to expand from knitting and crochet to all crafts. The chamber facility has hosted art classes, and has the necessary equipment for painters, jewelry makers etc. “Bringing together crafters fosters networking and support”, Solak says. The program will begin February 13.
