Ronald J. Thompson, age 73, from Floral City, Florida passed away after a lengthy illness at Citrus Memorial Hospital on 10/26/2023 with his close family at his side.
Born October 30, 1949 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ronald Thompson and Virginia Miles.
Ron married Jacqueline Hathaway on June 14, 1969, whom he loved and cherished for 46 years before her passing.
For 50 years he worked for St. Gobain Glass where he was a maintenance supervisor, and then retired to care for his sick wife.
Ronald is survived by his two daughters Rhonda (Teddy) Schieler, and Lisa Thompson, two granddaughters Megan Schieler and Sabrina Thompson, four great-grandkids, Jordan, Amelia, Bently, and Logan, who were his world, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife Jacqueline, Ron joined his dog Sparky, sister, brothers, niece and nephew in heaven just before his 74th birthday.
Ron loved hunting, fishing, and shooting his guns in the backyard. He loved and cherished his family like no other. He was a wonderful man who did a lot of wonderful things for a lot of people.
Ron will be cremated at McGan Cremation Service in Inverness, Fl. and will finally be by his wife’s side after 10 years of being apart.
They will be taken to Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania (Home) to be buried, and we will be having a going away party for the two of them at a later time.
