All Fired Up Kickin’ Ash BBQ Winners
Despite the rain seven Barbecue competitors spent Saturday cooking for judges and food enthusiasts. Coming out on top was Mort’s Meat Mafia from Potter County who took home the Emporium Food Market Mystery Meat competition. The crews smoked two mystery meats; beef tongue and alligator. The items and prize donated by Emporium Food Market.
Mort’s Meat Mafia also took home top honors in sides, wings and pork. Elk County competitor Beer N Beans BBQ scored the most points in turkey, ribs and desserts. Beer Time scored the highest in Brisket. Jason’s Smokin won the people’s choice award.
“Much credit goes to the competitors, vendors and those who braved the weather,” said Cameron County Chamber of Commerce director, Tina Solak. The event drew crowds around lunch time, but the event ended shortly after the winners were announced.
Jason’s Smokin and many of the competitors are planning a PA Wilds BBQ circuit for 2024. A Facebook group has been created named PA Wilds BBQ Circuit. All Fired Up Kickin Ash BBQ hoping to be added to the circuit.
