AMPHENOL ADVANCED SENSORS EMPLOYEES RAISE $4,500 FOR UNITED WAY
Elk County- Pictured, Doug Bauer, St. Marys Area United Way Payroll Program Committee Chair accepts a $4,500 check from Andrew Kurzrok, Gas, Moisture & Temperature General Manager for Amphenol Advanced Sensors on behalf of the company. The donation was a result of the employees’ giving day campaign Amphenol held on June 7, 2023. Amphenol’s fundraising effort was to support the St. Marys Area United Way and to inform their employees about the opportunity to donate to the United Way via Amphenol’s payroll program. Currently, many Amphenol employees have contributions deducted every pay period for the St. Marys Area United Way from their personal pay check, and Amphenol generously matches fifty cents on every dollar an employee contributes.
Amphenol Advanced Sensors and the St. Marys Area United Way have partnered together for years. In 2022, between company donations and the employee payroll program, Amphenol contributed $6,855 to the United Way. As a result of the 2022 campaign goal being achieved, to date, the St. Marys Area United Way has awarded grants in 2023 to Alcohol & Drug Abuse Services, Boys & Girls Club of St. Marys, Boy Scouts Bucktail Council, CAPSEA, Catholic Charities, Dickinson Center’s Crossroad Program, Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania, Guardian Angel Center, St. Marys First United Methodist Church Youth Program, St. Marys Public Library, St. Marys Recreation and Parks, St. Marys Area School District special library program, and funding to maintain the Eternal Flame located on the Diamond downtown St. Marys. The Board also approved a commitment of funding to support the City of St. Marys Parks and Recreation Leathers Playground Project. Specifically, the United Way funding would be used to help make the new Playland at Memorial Park handicap accessible.
The St. Marys Area United Way relies on the contributions from companies and local individuals. Those donations support the financial needs of non-profit agencies that serve the health and human welfare needs of our community. If you would like to become one of these individual or corporate donors, please call 781-6000 or mail your check to the St. Marys Area United Way, 44 So. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.
