Marilyn J. Slagle, 96, of Mechanic Street, Eldred, PA passed away Saturday (Jan. 21, 2023) at Sena Kean Manor.

Born Nov. 6, 1926, she was the daughter of Peter C. Leffler and Marjorie Ostrander Leffler. In 1961 she married Leonard Slagle, who preceded her in death in 2000. She had one sister, Dorothy Leffler Mraz, who died in 1970.

Marilyn was a lifelong resident of Eldred. She worked as an administrative assistant for WA Grow Insurance until her retirement in 1981.

She formerly was involved in the Eldred United Methodist Church and Camp Penuel. She always had a cat.

Surviving are Jacquelyn (Glenn) Cavanaugh of Greensburg; Samuel “Jim” (Scilene) Mraz of Latrobe; great-niece, Carolyn Mraz of Los Angeles Calif.; great-nephew, David (Alexis) Mraz of Philadelphia; and their son, Maxwell.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon today (Jan. 25, 2023) at the Frame Funeral Home, Eldred, at which time a service will be held with Pastor Bruce Ireland officiating. Burial will be in Lamphier Cemetery.
