VOLUNTEERS ASSIST WITH TROUT STOCKING ON MANADA CREEK, DAUPHIN COUNTY
SOUND BITES:
Hunter Strohm, Hummelstown, PA
“Yeah, so this is my first year coming out, but I just really enjoy giving back to the community. I’ve always fished this stream every since I can really remember, so, going pout, seeing the fish, seeing the fish in the water, and then obviously, seeing where the palaminos are as well, that’s pretty cool.”
“So yeah, they give us the bucket at the truck, they tell us to get it in the water as quick as possible. GIve it a nice toss, so that way they don’t get stuck in the mud and mess up all their gills. And then once they hit the water it gives them like a little bit of shock just to perk up and keep swimming. And all of them seem to be doing really, really well so far.”
Hunter Gundy, Grantville, PA
“The Manada’s been flowing through my backyard all my life, so I’ve been fishing for a pretty long time. And it’s great. I love the experience of being out here and everything else. It’s great to get out here and take a break from work and whatever else, and see all the fish. They’re so healthy swimming around, it’s great.”
“Oh, yeah, there’s a lot of people here, and it’s great that there’s that many people who want to give back and whatever else. It’s awesome. You’re not always having a bucket in your hand 24/7, but from talking to other people, it’s sometimes really hard to find help for this, so it was just good to come out and give back.:
