Edna L. PAISLEY, 91, of Genesee, PA, formerly of Landenberg, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family.
Born May 22, 1933, in Troutdale, VA, she was the daughter of Clarence and Fay Duvall Miles. On April 4, 1953, she married Ray McNeil Paisley, who predeceased her on April 17, 2017. She devoted her life to her family. Edna enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Sandra J. “Sandy” Sherry, 69, of 934 Windfall Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday,
April 23, 2025.She was born December 4, 1955, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Ronald and Christina Machcoviak Bowley.
William C. Exton: Husband, Father, Grandfather
William C. Exton, 79, of 4587 Townline Rd., Cuba, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at home with his family at his side after a lengthy illness.
Born on December 5, 1945, in Rochester, he was a son of Reginald “Jack” and Marjorie “Charlie” (Ellis) Exton.
On May 23, 1987, in the Livonia Methodist Church, he married the former Linda L. Pierce who survives.
After graduation Bill served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1965-68. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge. After he was discharged, he worked Construction for Showcase Homes in Hemet, California, prior to his retirement, but continued helping people with odd jobs. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Western movies on TV.
District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that, after a jury trial held today at the Courthouse, Ozzy STRAIT, of Bradford, was convicted of crimes related to an assault on his then-girlfriend.
STRAIT was charged by City of Bradford Police Officer Evan Schmidt after he and Sgt. Seth Shephard were dispatched for a report of a strangulation that had just occurred at an apartment building in Bradford.

COUDERSPORT BOROUGH WATER AUTHORITY CUSTOMERS – SPRING FLUSHING OF HYDRANTS – The spring flushing of hydrants will begin on Monday, April 28, 2025 and continue the entire week. Flushing will be done between the hours of 7am and 3 pm.
Flushing can cause water discoloration of the water supply, so please check your water before using. If your water is discolored let the cold water run until it clears up. Do not use your hot water as this may put sediment into your hot water tank.

District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that a Bradford man was convicted of making false representations while attempting to purchase a firearm after a jury trial held today at the Courthouse.
Dillon Schweitzer was charged by Foster Township Police Chief Mike Thomas with making a false statement on a Federal form in conjunction with the attempted purchase of a Ruger pistol and with making a false statement on a form which contained a notice that such statement would be criminally punishable – a Felony 3 and a Misdemeanor 3 offense, respectively.
SCHWEITZER indicated that he did not have any felony convictions or any convictions which were punishable by a year or more of incarceration, when in fact, he did have three such convictions. Assistant District Attorney Thomas Coppolo prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth. Sentencing has been scheduled for June 12th.
Several student leaders at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford were recognized during the Blue and Gold Gala Sunday for their co-curricular contributions to the campus and the local community.
“We not only celebrated individual achievements,” said Dr. Michael Davila, vice president and dean of student affairs, “but also the values and vision that make this campus community so special – values that come alive through student service, leadership, and willingness to say yes to opportunities.”
Several students and student groups were recognized, and others were awarded scholarships for the 2025-26 year for their service to the campus and the community. Additionally, seven students received individual awards.
Kristen Ellenberger, a business management major from Ridgway, received the Spirit of Service Award for her work as founder of Panthers4Paws, which raises awareness of and funds for the McKean County SPCA, where Ellenberger also volunteers her time.
Since 2021, the Allegany County Democratic Committee has cleaned up a section of State Rt. 21 in Almond, NY as part of the NYS Department of Transportation’s “Adopt-a-Highway” program.
This year’s spring clean-up took place on Tuesday, April 22nd – Earth Day. Volunteers collected numerous bags of trash, giving the roadway a much-improved appearance. This project is just one of the many ways local Democrats “Serve our Community.”
ACDC’s designated section incudes State Rt. 21 in Almond and the section of Karr Valley Rd. that leads to/from the expressway entrance. It was specifically requested by the Committee because of its importance as a gateway to our county. This stretch of highway is heavily used by I-86 travelers on their way to the Alfred campuses or to recreational opportunities elsewhere in the area. Volunteers from the Democratic Committee clean this section twice a year.
Michael T. Greeley, 67, of Bolivar Drive, Bradford, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at his residence.
Born June 2, 1957, in Troy NY, he was a son of the late John A. and Dorothy E. (Hand) Greeley. He was a 1975 graduate of Portville High School.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
After the service Mike used his training in the military as a cook and baker. He worked at Reid’s Food Barn in Olean for many years.
On October 11, 2003, in Allegany NY, he married Lynda L. (Bell) Greeley, who survives.

Mt. Jewett, Pa.: Women’s Introduction to Wingshooting is a two-weekend program offered by the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) to help women learn the fundamentals of shotgun shooting and hunting game birds of Pennsylvania. This popular program is hosted by the Mt. Jewett Sportsmen’s Club on July 19-20 and August 23-24. Women’s Introduction to Wingshooting is a course for women, taught by women. On both Saturdays, the course starts at noon and ends at 4:00 p.m. On both Sundays, the course starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m.

Aaron Michael Harrier, 46, of Port Allegany, passed away peacefully on Monday (April 21, 2025) at Sena Kean Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Smethport, after a courageous, yet short, battle with cancer.
He was born March 12, 1979 in Port Allegany, the son of David P. and Jane A. (Bickford) Harrier. On June 11, 2005, in Port Allegany, PA, he married Laurie Jeanne McGinnis. Also daughter Daisy Jane Harrier was born on January 19, 2017.
Brandy L. Mason, 50, of Driftwood, PA passed away at UPMC Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, PA on Wednesday morning (March 26, 2025) with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born December 24, 1974 in Coudersport, PA a daughter of Rickey Copp, Sr. (Pam), and Lucille Graves Copp, Emporium. On July 7, 2018 she married the love of her life and soulmate Scott Mason, who survives.
Brandy was a lifetime Cameron County resident and graduated from Cameron County High School. She shared a wonderful life alongside her loving husband and daughter Skylar Stevens. Together they ran a hobby farm and S’mores and More Rental. Brandy‘s passions were her beautiful family, her animals, (her beloved Fanta), fishing and friends.

Tiffany J. Thomas, 44, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 14, 2025.
She was born July 7, 1980 in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of Nanette Smith Oakes, who survives.
Tiffany worked in various restaurants over the years and was employed recently at Hoss’s, she will be remembered for being a good server and being very friendly to all she encountered. It was during this time that she made a number of great friends. Tiffany had a great love for elephants, they were her favorite animal. She loved doing and helping others do their hair, make-up, and nails. In her free time, Tiffany enjoyed watching movies, and especially enjoyed the Harry Potter series.
